What does it feel like when they are actually doing the section? I have heard it's like 'pressure' but im so so SO anxious and feel like i need to know every detail. how much pressure? what kind of pressure? is it enough pressure to be uncomfortable at all? is there *any* pain? this is so scary and my section is getting closer!!!

Thanks to anyone who can answer :flower:

I wouldn't say it's painful, but you can certainly feel what's going on. I wouldn't use the word 'pressure' ... I think it was more like 'tugging' and pulling side to side.

If you start to feel any pain, you just say and they will adjust the amount of pain relief you are being given.

I felt the tugging when they were getting the baby out ... however, I didn't feel any of the cutting or sewing up. Don't worry!

To be honest once i was numb i didnt feel anything, maybe i was just too nervous/excited about meeting my baby!

You wont feel any pain at all, im sure some people to feel a slight tug/pulling sensation but i didnt.

Dont worry about it you will be numbed from below the breasts down.

I didn't feel anything in terms of the actual operation. I felt them pulling baby out but you're being moved around a bit whilst they jiggle baby out but again it doesn't hurt at all its just a bit odd. I was really anxious and mine was an emcs, baby was engaged as they'd been pushing for a natural birth so they had to get baby's head out of my pelvis so I had a bit of extra tugging but honestly I felt nothing and you know then that baby is coming out.

I did feel the difference in my tummy when baby was out; I was extra stretched and I could feel the difference in weight straight away... Like a deflated balloon!

You'll be fine Hun; the staff really kept me calm too

Xx

I honestly felt nothing at all. No tugging or anything. Mine was an emcs; if I'd have known before hand that I was going to have a c section I would have been the same as you, desperate to know everything about it. But honestly, don't worry. Once the needle was in (which didn't hurt a bit compared to the contraction I was having at the time!), I felt nothing, including the catheter going in. :dohh:

I had a scheduled c-section on Dec. 20th. I wouldn't say there was any pain. I could feel the tugging and side to side movement everyone is talking about. For some reason they had a hard time pulling my lil guy out, they actually had to use the suction cup to get him out. So I could feel them pushing on my stomach right under my breast to help push him out. It wasn't painful but it kind of felt like it made it a little hard to breathe while they were doing that. Not enough to freak me out just a little hard to breath as any time when someone would be pushing on your stomach. I couldn't feel any cutting and they cut out quite a bit of scar tissue from my last section. I couldn't feel any of the stitching or staples either. I must say the planned section was much easier than the emergency section I had with my first DS. Good Luck!! It will all be worth it when you are holding that little baby in your arms.

I loved my c sec delivery and was soooo scared before hand! I felt movement like my whole body rocking slightly from side to side which was strange as you're obviously numb but it was like you're aware of your weight but feel nothing, I just sang to keep me calm lol, was funny! There's nothing to worry about honestly.. Mine was an amazing wonderful experience and I'd do it again in a heartbeat!xx

I didn't even know they had started
I remember asking when they were going to start and all I heard was 'we've already started' :haha: x

All I felt was lots of pushing and pulling.... And then pressure and felt sick where they were leaning on the top of my stomach xx

I felt pressure and a little bit of tugging and pulling while they were getting my DD out. I then began to complain about the pressure a little and they gave me more meds I think, because I got pretty loopy soon after that!

Never felt any pain or any part of them stitching me up, etc.

I felt the pressure but they told me exactly what they were doing so I knew it was coming- kinda made it hard to breathe for a little while. No pain at all during the section, a little pinch when they put the spinal in. I did feel quite nauseated when they laid me down after the spinal went in but they gave me meds in the IV and it was gone ASAP.

Mine wasn't painful at all. I felt very mild pressure and pulling, but it didn't make me uncomfortable.

A lot of tugging and jiggling around but definitely no pain, don't worry. They make sure you are properly numb and if you did feel anything you just have to say and they'd sort it out.

I didn't feel a lot, that I remember. I remember feeling like I was being wiggled side to side a bit, but that was it. I was aware on some level of her being pulled out, but not sure how much of that was actually physical awareness, or me "feeling it" because they told me that was what was happening :)

thanks everyone, im just so nervous!!! x
