Hey there! There are many wonderful toys you can buy for a toddler that are fun but also enhance development! Anything that he can create with... finger paints, chalk, crayons, markers, play dough, for instance! Also shape sorters, puzzles, and books are great at this age. Building blocks & the large (toddler-sized) legos are also great! Plus this is the age where creative play starts to develop... so things like a toy shopping cart, play food, kitchen set, toy lawn mower, pretend doctor set, dress up clothes, etc would be great! Toys for the bath-tub bc water play is a lot of fun... a water table or sand table maybe? Stacking toys & nesting toys are also good. Those are just some ideas that come to mind! Hope that helps! My son loves playing with balls... and climbing thru his little tunnel...! For my son's 2nd birthday i got him a sliding board, swing set, and some ride-on "bikes" (the ones that they move with their feet)! I'm sure as you know... boys love to be active! So toys for large motor development are good choices!
