Hi i just wondered if anyone had any opinions on these names we like, we don't know the sex yet but have a boys name already, i am 38 weeks pregnant and we still can't decide!! to be honest we will probably wait until we meet baby to decide but here they are

india
violet
matilda
eliza
scarlet

interested to see what people think
thanks xx

I like those names... So unique... I like Violet & Scarlet... you don't hear those names at all... thats why I like them.... Now your the one to make the hard call.... lol CONGRATS!!

I like all of them except India which I think is really inappropriate. I live in London and there's a large ethnic population and if I were called India here I'd be horrifically embarrased and probably made fun of by any asians I know.

Violet's my favourite from your list and I might call her Lottie for short.
I like Matilda but not Matty or Tilly which inevitably it'd end up being.
I like Eliza but not Ellie or Lizzy and I'm not sure about Liza.
I like Scarlett but I'm not sure about Scar.

I like Scarlett, Violet and Eliza. Matilda is cute but I don't care as much for the nn.

Violet and Scarlett I like but I have always thought that these two names you have to be careful with, they do not fit a "shy" girl - A girl with a very Spunky personality would be perfect for these names, Eliza I love, its on my list. my name is Elizabeth so it kinda stems from that, I also love Zoe!

I like Violet and Scarlett, Violet is more unusual I think (Scarlett was the 37th most popular girls name last year).

My niece is called India and obviously its quite unusual, she shortens it herself to 'Indie' a lot of the time, which is nice. I do seem to remember that when she was six she did have a real crisis with her name because someone told her it was a 'poor country' which put her in a sulk for about a week.

I love Violet and Eliza we have chosen Eliza for our middle name if this one is a little girl :D x

I like Violet and Scarlett too, very much. If it weren't for a name association situation, I think either of these might have been my top choice. I guess I like "color" names! :)

I like them all but my favorite would have to be Mathilda. But I think if you just pick when you meet her you really can't go wrong.

I'm happy to see so many like Violet :) We named our little girl, Violet Mae and we get nothing but compliments (we're in the US, so there shouldn't be any competition :flower:)...Out of the list, of course, Violet is first but I loooove Matilda, too!

Oh! I just saw Eliza on there...that was also one of our choices, as well as Ella. Funny how similar our lists!

i really love the name violet. It's my husbands nans name who passed away and if we don't use it as a first name then it will be middle name x
