My lo is 1 in 3 week and I can't decide wether to use +1 formula or cows milk? Which is best? What do you us or plan on using? Xx

As soon as LO turned 1, we just went to whole cows milk. I dont see the problem as if they have a healthy balanced diet theres no reason not to. We just switched one day and she didnt even notice the difference.

That's good to know. My LO just turned 1 yesterday and he's still on Follow on Milk but I have about 2/3 of a tub left so might gradually introduce some cows milk whilst I still have that and then not bother buying any more.

Both LOs had cows milk in cereals and meals from 6 months.

My daughter went onto cows milk at 11.5 months.

This LO will still breastfeed when he wants but I may offer him some cows milk to drink from 12 months.

If LO is having a varied diet then there is no need for formula.

Cows milk is at least half the price too!:flower:

I think cows milk...I have been told that +1 milk is a bit of a rip off anyway. And the cost of cows milk is much more appealing!x

Can I just ask? when you introduced cows milk, did you put it in a beaker and just let LO drink it or did you still put it in a bottle and give it to LO yourself?

I am starting cows milk tomorrow, but wondering beaker or bottle?

I used cow's milk and put it in a sippy cup. She loves it.

I worked out that formula is no more expensive than cows milk for the 16oz a day Fran was drinking - in fact it was cheaper if on offer. Formula also contains less salt than regular milk.

We went onto toddler milk for a month or so then swapped onto cows milk and beaker at the same time around 13 months old. We had no problems with either xxx

We'll be using cows milk. I can't wait to stop giving £7.99 a week to cow & gate!

Not sure how successful this first morning has been.

She ate about three quarters of her breakfast but hardly drank any milk out of beaker, left the beaker where she could reach it, she came back & drank a bit of it, nit much.

Now she is sort of playing / sort of shouting at me while I eat my breakfast

Cows milk.

We didn't do it immediately at 12 months as she started nursery 2 days after her birthday, weddid it about 3 weeks later.

She was still on a bottle then, so we gave her a bottle with about three quarters formula and one quarter cows milk. Then after about a week we added a greater portion of cows milk and so on until it was all cows milk.

Once she was used to cows milk (she took to it very well) we switched from bottle to cup during awake times, she still has a bottle at bedtime but hoping to switch soon but I think that will be the REAL challenge lol..

Maybe I should keep cows milk in a bottle then introduce beaker in few weeks?

im going to go onto cow's milk she has had it twice as a drink anyway and didnt notice the difference , have any of you smelt the 1+ milk its smells so sweet x

I think I was worried about nothing, as the transition has been painless!
