My LO is only going to have just turned 1 the week before halloween and i really wanna get him a costume to wear.

What did/are you guys going to do with your LOs (around 1) on halloween?

do you just get the outfit to let them wear as normal clothes for the day?

where are you based? I can tell you lots of shops in the uk that have baby/toddler friendly costumes

I got a little duck costume (her favorite animal/word) for my daughter to wear and we'll take her around the neighbors houses so they can see her (as we do for all the little ones in my neighborhood)

I didn't think of the fact that she'll be in daycare on the day of Halloween. I'll probably ask her sitter if they're doing something, and if so, I'll send her in with it on and a change of clothes!

My youngest daughter was 15 months last halloween and i dressed her and and her sister as little pumpkins and she joined in the whole experience x

1st Halloween - Chloe was born, 2nd Halloween she wore a witch costume for her pre-birthday party and on her actual birthday she wore a pumpkin sleep suit. Through the day she just wore normal clothes, well birthday outfit but otherwise it would be normal. She also got to wear the witch outfit at a nursery halloween fancy dress day too. This year we have another pumpkin outfit

we took Zander with us last year he was almost 1 we do something called trunk or treating where a bunch of cub scout parents/leaders sit outside their cars all parked in one lot and give out candy lots of people go and there is always a long line so the kids get to see all kinds of costumes on people and best of all its safe! :) most of them also decorate their cars so thats fun for the kids to see!

anyone got any links to good costumes in the uk??

Megan wasnt quite 1 last year. We brought Megan to the local shopping mall last year as we heard it was good for young kids and it's indoors. All the stores give out candy which she wouldn't eat anyway but thought it sounded like fun.

Well it was insane. And not a good place for a one year old. We won't ever do that again!! We also brought her around to our neighbors as they wanted to see her dressed up. Then we put her to bed while we handed out treats to kids who came to our door.

We carved a pumpkin and Megan helped pull out the seeds. I think that was her favorite part!

This year she has a few kids parties where she will dress up. We live in a smaller town now and will do lots of early trick or treating!

Daisy was 10 months too. She also had a cat costume and a little pumpkin dress. Cat was from M&S and pumpkin from Tescos.

Chloe's were from Tesco's too, as far as I am aware, they haven't started selling Halloween stuff yet.

its not so much the costume i wondering what i could do with LO?

Im still looking for a costume! I want something kinda cute at the same time lol. Might take her out,not sure yet though

Apart from the costume . . . nothing much. I'd do a halloween party for when she is older with activities. Not a huge fan of trick or treating although I don't mind if people knock on our door, just not something I'd want to do.

I am dressing Kelana up, but that's it, and certainly no candy!!! My other two will be trick-or-treating and stuffing their faces until they are literally sick

Since Alexa's birthday is so close to Halloween, I came up with the Idea to give her a halloween/costume Birthday Party. So that everyone can dress up. Thought it would be fun. =] Even though a part of my wants a girly party, I still want to show her off in her cute costume. lol. =]

And here is the costume I got her.
An Owl, Too Cute To Spook. =]

The stores and such in our area always have Halloween events. The local mall does a parade where all the LO's can dress up and go from store to store 'trick or treating'. We have a local science museum that has a Halloween open house where all the kids dress up and there's free admission. The grocery stores also do Halloween parades or trick or treating. The bookstores often to a costume and Halloween story time. A lot of other places have parties with costume contests and the like. Our local paper has a whole list of events that are available and which ones are free or how much is costs to attend and what day it's on. There's stuff going on up to 2 weeks in advance of Halloween sometimes.
Last year he was a monkey and we only dressed him up for the events, not wearing it all day.
This year he's going to be a meerkat.
