Shaylee.....

I really like it and OH does as well but I have a slight reservation (only a slight one!)

You can be honest if you don't like it.... I would prefer people to tell me what they really think! :winkwink:

Also any suggestions on a short middle name to go with this name and the surname "Knol" would be very much welcomed!

:hugs:

Im not over keen, I don't know your culture or anything but it sounds like a indian name?

i quite like it, its different, and will go lovely with a short middle name like rose or Mae or jane :)

Its lovely  and unusual. My daughters name is Shani (pronounced Shaynee), so not disimilar to Shaylee, and her middle name is Rose. :winkwink:. xx

Mm, it sounds quite American to me. Not really my thing, but if you like it then go for it :D x

i quite like it, its a grower i think isnt it!
Shaylee Mae is lovely though! The middle name really adds to the whole name if that makes sense!

I like it. I have a little cousin named Shaylynn (sp?). I love the nickname Shae/Shay.

I'm not really a fan of names that have been made up in recent years, but that's my personal view. If you like it, go for it.

Ann is a nice short middle name.

Me either. But I do like the name Shay. Goes well with middle names such as Amber? x

I love it... very pretty & original! I don't like crazy made-up names... but i don't think Shaylee sounds crazy by any means! And Shay is a pretty nickname! I have also known a Shaylynn which i also really like!

For middle names i would say:

Shaylee Rose
Shaylee Mae
Shaylee Joy
Shaylee Hope
Shaylee Kate

I actually like it pronounced like that, I done a post a while ago asking opinions of the name Ashlynn and someone said it sounded like one of those "made up names" so she googled it :rofl: i was just sitting thinking....... "what?! why would you even google it! lol" annnyhoooo! at least you have the option of her being able to adjust it when shes older too if she doesnt like it she can always ask people to call her lee. Also if you picture a little girl running around you can always shorten it to shay too which is cute. At least you have options with that name and its different too which is what im looking for different but not bullying at school material lol! I still like Ashlynn but im not sure if i like It shortened to ash (which i know people would) sometimes im like oh Ash is cute then im thinking no it reminds me of cigarette ash yuk!! then i think i could absoloutely demand no one shortens her name but then....i could just see it in 14 years time she will be saying at school "oh just call me Ash"
theres definatly no pleasing everyone on names though iv still not found one that everyone has said "oh i like that" so stuff it! dont settle for a name thats not what you originally loved just because of what others say. Its not like its a ridiculous crazy name where she will be singled out. Its pretty and unique in my opnion.

xx

Thanks to everyone that has posted...more opinions welcome still though!:winkwink:

Its true you will never please everyone, the name is American which is why it seems `made up`but really its just thats its not common over here which is exactly what I want! I do like some of the old fashioned names especially for boys like Luke and Jack but for a girl i dont know why but i prefer something more unique, unusual, different... whatever you might call it! OH has mentioned many names to me and some of them I just cannot bear! I am more concerned that the baby will like it really.... thats my main concern with picking names. I quite like this one... :hugs::hugs::hugs:

I live in America and its a name that was made up only about 12 years ago. Never existed here before that. Like I mentioned, I personally am not a fan of recently made up names, so pretty much anything that hasn't been around for at least a couple hundred years. But there are a lot of people that are fans of recent names and don't like ones that have been around forever. The beauty of that is that in a few hundred years Shaylee might be common

shaylee - its different x Remember some people will shorten it when she is older x GL x
