I am being monitered for onset of pre eclampsia at present due to suffering with it in last pregnancy. In last pregnancy I only had the high bp and protein in urine and odema.
I have had a few admissions to fmu and a uterine doppler scan which put me at 90% chance of developing pre eclampsia again.
The docs keep telling me that if I experience any frontal headaches to make sure I go straight in.
Now I feel psychosomatic pain as in someone has said "if you feel this then its dangerous" and so I feel like I am almost imagining things cos Im so anxious!!!!
Can someone who has had a pre eclamptic heache previously expalin to me how it started and what it feels like and how to distinguish from a normal headache! Recently I am not having headaches as such but a feeling like my head feels cold is best way to describe it! similar to type of headache I had after epidural BUT I think its just stress!

In my experience the headaches are severe and persistant, along the front of the foerehead and they do not go away with pain killers. You may also react badly to the light and have visual disturbances (see stars, etc).

Thanks so much for this advice.I feel like Im so on high alert for any pre eclampsia symptoms that I almost imagine that I have a headache, the slightest twinge will make me panic!I guess from your description that I wouldnt be able to miss one of them with that intensity!

although I have never had one myself it has been described to me by those who have as the most awful headache that they have ever had in their life and that Tylonal wouldn't even touch it.

I have honestly never had a headache like it in my life. It really is unbearable, like a crushing pain across the whole front and top of the head. In my experience it is nothing like a normal headache so it shouldn't be easy to confuse. Hope you escape pre eclampsia, i hope we all do!xx
