Hi Ladies.

I'm 16 weeks and I think I'm ready to get my hands on a Doppler.

I tried to hold off as much as possible, because I didn't want to go crazy and i didn't want to get one too early. But I should be able to hear something by now, I think. (right?)

I'd love to hear how early you ladies could hear things, what sort of things you could hear, and which ones you used.

Thanks in advance!

I have the sonoline b doppler. its great and with both babies i have been able to hear them as early as 8 1/2 weeks! Take some practice, but love it! You can hear lots of heart beats and whooshing noises (placenta), but baby is in there!

I got the Womb Music from Amazon...you are supposed to use it with headphones, but I hooked it up to my iPhone speaker so my husband can hear too (and so the feedback won't burst my eardrums haha). A lot of people talk about the Sonoline B, but I've been really happy with mine. It doesn't show the heartrate, but once you get used to hearing your placenta and then finding the baby there will be no doubt in your mind which heartbeat is which. I LOVE it and I use it every day, and have been since about 13 weeks. I used to find her down by my hairline, but now she's on the same side but about 2 inches from my belly button towards my left. You are able to hear them moving too which is really cool. I have an anterior placenta so I can barely feel her move and this has been such a comfort to me. I only listen to her for a few seconds each day, but it makes my whole day!

My tip: don't try to listen within an hour after you eat, baby will be too active! If you've been up and moving around a lot, try then, they are normally asleep from your body rocking them. <3

I had the angel monitor. Absolutely loved mine. Some say they are not safe but a couple of minutes here and there was fine with me. It was a special part of the experience and reassuring. Xxx

I got a sonoline b and could hear mine best around 12 weeks. I use it all the time and its pretty good at giving a ball park heart rate as well. almost 16 weeks and the heart beat is so strong now.

I have a Sonoline b and heard the heart beat from 9 weeks and 2 days. It's great and I've heard lots of other mums recommend it too

I have sonaline b too it's great, used it from about 10 weeks
Cost me around £15 brand new from eBay
:flower:

thanks everyone!

and great tip about not trying right after eating, but while the baby is more likely to be resting, like when we're active. I wouldn't have thought of that!

Ditto with me. I think it took a bit longer to hear things with my previous baby (around 11 weeks), probably just due to baby's position and/or lack of my experience using it.

I ordered it on amazon and I think it cost ~60 Euro. I also ordered the gel they recommend for it, and haven't had to buy a new bottle yet, though I've used it countless times :)

I have a sonoline b and could hear the hb at 9w1/2d with both pregnancies... and both were/are anterior placentas

I also have the sonoline B and found baby's heartbeat at 8+4! I had the same one with the twins but can't remember when I bought it/found their heartbeats.
