And did u do breakfast, lunch or tea first?my hv said can just offer veg first but others have said cereal

We were recommended to start with veggies, pureed carrots being ideal. Cereal we introduced a couple weeks later. We'd give it around lunch time, never at dinner in case they had a reaction to anything so they could be well monitored.

Her very first foods were cucumber sticks, roasted carrots and parsnips and mashed potato. We did BLW, so we fed everything from the start (veg, fruit, meat, potatoes, toast, rice cakes, etc.). Her favourites in the beginning were anything on rice cakes (mashed avocado, banana, cashew butter).

We started with mainly just doing lunch for the first month, then added in breakfast and dinner. Now we also have an afternoon snack many days.

Anna's first taste was mashed banana which she had at around 5 months mid-morning. She really enjoyed it. In the very early days we also tried avocado (hated it but grew to like it, back to not liking it again), apple, pear, carrot, sweet potato, butternut squash and parsnip.

I used to mix a little baby rice and milk with her banana mash for the first few weeks.

Apple sauce at lunch.

With BLW you still need to introduce gradually to check for allergies/intolerances. You also still need to be careful about what ages you introduce foods. Your baby's belly doesn't care if the food was pureed or not beforehand- it all ends up the same after being chewed. The rules still apply. It's fortunate that your baby didn't have a problem with any of those foods- if she had, it would have taken far longer to figure out which of the four foods was the problem.

We didn't introduce anything gradually except for meat and that wasn't for dietary reasons, but simply because we don't eat a lot of it and I didn't see the point whilst he was really only licking and playing. There is no family history of food allergies (except, weirdly, chillies give my husband and his brother hiccups!) so I wasn't worried. LO had peanut butter, eggs and fruits such as pineapple and kiwi fruit all within about a week or two!

I will say though that if you are BLW you need to think about foods that are manageable - for example, I found pineapples a no go at first as they are fibrous and tough to chew; apple is better grated as it doesn't break down easily and veggies better slightly over cooked.
