What happened before you went into labor?

I had 2 sweeps as I didn't want an induction and my due date was getting close. The day of the second sweep I fell asleep at 10pm and woke at 11:30pm with cramps. I had no idea what to expect as it was my first. I called our local medical nursing line to ask if it was real labour and the nurse said, " well does it hurt dear" me "oh yes", her "well good luck to you, you're going to have a baby!" and it hit me that it was all happening. As the pain got worse I moved into the shower and the contractions almost disappeared in the warmth of the water. I had to turn the shower off in order to time them. Then when I turned the water off I got hit with one that was waaaay painful and told DH to pack as we were going to the hospital. That was 2am. My OB said that's probably when the transition was happening. Then they took forever to check me in and I was begging for drugs holding onto the bedrail when the epidural lady finally came in at 6am. Once I had that I needed 3 top ups and then things were great. At 7am my water broke naturally and at 7:30 I gave 2 pushes and she was out.

My OB said to get in earlier to the hospital this time so we can get set up before the major pain starts, I'll have an epi, it was the best thing ever with DD and with twins if they need to turn the second baby around they'll be going in to guide baby out from below and I certainly want to have pain management if that has to happen.

#1 honestly cant remember ae was 12yrs ago. Woke up that morning about 7am just feeling off. I told my mum and she said 'your not in enough pain' at 8.30am I was in pain so my dad took me to hosp. Baby was born 10:53am that day

Dd2...day she was born I felt achy but nothing I had not had before...just bit tired and crampy. At 6pm we settled to watch prison break...I couldnt get comfy so had a bath but wasnt in pain..just restless. At 8pm my sister took me to meet midwife at birth centre to see if dilating. Baby was born 45min later.

#3 day before felt fine had driven 40miles and taken kids out so I was tired that eve and achy. Woke at 5am with pains but managed to sleep through them till 8am. Decided not to do school run as it was cold and I felt s@it so I called my mum to take them to school. I had a shower when they left and lost my plug. This was my only indication of labour as I had only really felt achy. At 9am my back was hurting so used hot water bottle. At 10.30 my sis took me to meet MW and see if I was dilating. I was 10cm so got in the pool lol x

I was 35w1d and had an OB appt in the morning. He said all was good and he'd see me when he got back from vacation. That afternoon, I was standing in the kitchen and my water broke. Had her 6:20 am the following morning.

Has anyone had their appetite go wonky in the days leading up to labor? I've barely been hungry the past few days. I typically eat more because I know I need to than because I'm hungry.

I know some ladies felt nauseous before labor or just not hungry as much. I am feeling more sensitive to food again so maybe Baby is preparing. Who knows?

I had the 'clear out' and lost some plug the day before I went into labour, I was extra emotional and the my very strange obsession with the smell of cleaning products 😂 🙊 suddenly went away the day before I had her!
