What hospitals are we all going to??

Broomfield hospital Chelmsford in Essex anyone had any experience ?

Im going to Rotherham general again, I would say that the staff are fab and the maternity section is a bit outdated but they looked after me last time so I'm going back

I had my daughter there and you are right. The staff are not nice. Your a number and a statistic to get in and out. Good news for you though as they have done the maternity suit up. Updated and everything.

I am having this one at Barnsley District general. I had my son there and its the oldest unit i have ever seen but the staff are fab and thats all that counts to me. :) xx

I'll be giving birth at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, it's brand new so hopefully the labour ward will be clean and shiney and modern

hoping to have at home but its my first so keeping options open and it'll be Derby Royal Infirmary if I need to... anyone been there? xxx

Wexham Park Hospital in Slough they have an Isis birth centre upstairs and labour ward downstairs just in case of complications. Had my eldest in the labour & delivery then had my next one at the birth centre delivered in the pool and hoping this one will be the same.

Frimley Park....after midwife spoke to me about a home birth. Its my first and although I am low risk...I would prefer to be in hospital just in case.

Anyone any experience from there??? Not sure if they do tours - will ask at my 20 week scan next week

Also - those going to QAH, Portsmouth - one thing they do have going for the new maternity unit (well opened a couple of years ago now in new build) is the view over the harbour.....very nice! NOT that I feel many of us in labour would appreciate :haha:

3 of my cousins were born there so it must be good :) I don't think my Auntie would have gone back otherwise!

I'll be going to the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital in Belfast. It's where everyone I know has had their LO's so I've heard mixed reports.

William Harvey in Ashford (Kent). Will be in the birthing unit as long as I don't get GD again x

Hi inx, I will be at William Harvey in april; have you heard many reviews? I'm very nervous of a hospital birth as my first was not the best of experiences (different hospital)

I'll be going to the Spires unit at Oxford's JR (assuming I remain low risk) - I went there for DS and I can't recommend it enough!! x

i will be going basildon hospital, in basildon essex, had both my boys there

WOW so many people from the UK, I knew there were a lot on this site but had no idea there were so many of you! haha

I'll be delivering at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital, there is a hospital in Burlington literally 5 minutes down the road but I've heard horror stories and I was born at OT so I wanted mine to be born there as well :)

Hi there...it is exciting to know someone else is going to the same place and has had a good experience! So far I am only familiar with the DAU and the ultrasound place... is the Spires unit the general unit we go to unless there are complications? Or, is it possible to choose the ward? Sorry if it sounds silly... this is our first so I have very limited knowledge on what to expect...

Hiya! The Spires unit is the midwife run unit on the top floor of the hospital. You have to specifically choose to go there. It's the same as other midwife led units as in you can't have an epidural and you can only go there if you are low risk - but it is brilliant though. The staff are amazing, and the facilities are great!

If you just go to the normal ward it's a few floors down and is run like a usual labour ward with docs and midwives. I've heard good and bad experiences with it there, but I think that goes for most labour wards! x
