What hospitals are we all going to??

good hope down sutton coldfield for me, anyone heard any storys *eep* the hospital is 'lovingly' nicknamed NO HOPE though so i dont expect amazing stuff from it...either way i hate hospitals and this is the nearest one to me xx

University hospital lewisham in London for me, hopefully I'll stay low risk and get to go to the birth centre which I've heard good things about. I've just moved though and technically my nearest hospital is Mayday but I refuse to go there.

Thank you very much Smiley. I'm sure the midwife and I will be having the labor discussion soon, but it is very helpful to be able to think about labor specifics and discuss them with my husband before meeting with the midwife! With your information, I'll be able to think better and discuss more with my husband...thank you again!

i'll be going to wigan hospital x

Me too. Had our daughter there in 2009 and they were wonderful! Just wish they did a 'birthing centre' with private rooms. But, a healthy baby is what matters. Have you been before?

Hinchingbrooke (Huntingdon Cambs) would like to go to the MW-led Primrose Suite but this will depend on my GTT results.
Had both dd1/2 at the hospital too.

Ipswich - I had my second baby there, MW's were excellent!!

I really hope it's a home birth, but if not it will be William Harvey in Ashford, Kent.

Ill be in a midwife lead hosp in Trowbridge if all goes to plan n have a water birth, If baby is gona be another big one ill be at RUH in Bath lol altho i didnt like their service there last time :(

Countess of Chester Hospital for me. :flower:

Me too...had our little boy there too :-) was a bit annoyed as they sent me home on my induction day as I wasn't a priority (2 weeks over) but its the nearest and easier for our family! I did get my own room and bathroom after birth which was nice :-)

You are not the first person I've heard say that about the RUH.

I'll be going to south tyneside hospital in south shields (near Sunderland) I'm ok with this hospital and haven't heard any horror stories. I've had troubles with the hospital in other areas lately but I have direct contact with head of midwifery and gynaecology so things seem to have improved (I probably have a red sticker warning on my file) haha xx

Oh really?? wot have you heard?

My exp was awful! Altho they did a gd job in comin to the rescue when the alarm went off coz baby was stuck, the consulsant who delivered him didnt utter a word to me of what she was doin (she put the ventouse on his head altho i had already said NO to forceps but done it neway!) Then when he was born she literally frew him on my chest and within 10 secs he was taken away to be cleaned up so never even got to see him, n then all of a sudden i felt a needle goin in my foof i cuda kicked her in the face lol then she just left! After all that drama i finally got to hold my baby after half hour, half hour later i was made to get up n have a bath, waddling over with nothin on underneath and was pourin blood everywhere :nope: and then left in the bath which within a few seconds turned bright red, OH was holdin baby so cudnt help me out so i struggled. Got bk in my pj's n cudnt even go n sit back on the bed as they didnt clean it up, was still full of yuck n blood so i had to sit on the hard chair :( n 3 hours after he was born was told to go n make my own way back to trowbridge! So really hoping i dont go back there!

West Middlesex University Hospital for me. Don't know anyone else who has been there but its close and the reviews seemed fine so that is it for me.

Not pregnant at the moment but have had labours in four different hopsitals so thought I would put my experiences for labour.

Ealing Hospital - good experience until the last shift change, when I had an awful mw
Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital - great experience, amazing mw only downside was that it was so full we didnt have a cot for baby for the first 12 hours
West Middlesex University Hospital - labour was good
Chelsea and Westminster - was a good experience, ended in a much needed emergency section
Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital (again) - labour was a perfect experience

Next baby will be born at St. Mary's Paddington
