What is a normal AFC?

I just received copies of my medical records from the RE I saw last year and it shows my AFC is on right is 26 and left is 18. I'm not really sure what that means. Can anyone with experience explain? I know I have PCOS, the RE marked off that both ovaries were abnormal. I'm assuming because of the PCOS? I'm scared that there might be something else. He wrote notes but I can't read his handwriting for the life of me.

I'm going to an OB/GYN the first week of July to see about starting metformin so I will be able to ask a doctor questions soon but I'm so nervous. It also showed he recommended using clomid to conceive.
