I've decided to change Isabella's formula from SMA as she is constipated. On my thread a few people mentioned comfort milk. What's the difference between this and normal formula and do Tesco stock it?

I'm guessing this is the stuff to get as she is constipated. Mum said she fed me and my brothers on cow and gate no problems, but I was going to get aptimal. What do you use? Thanks x

SMA is famous for causing constipation, personally i would just switch brands first, cow and gate or aptamil, i use cow and gate, then if your baby is still constipated try a comfort milk x

and yes, Tesco stock it. The supermarkets anyway not the express stores x

Big supermarkets should stock it - maybe not the little ones though, my local Morrisons don't stock comfort milk for example. Like the previous poster said, I'd try a different first milk first as SMA does seem to cause constipation from what I've read on this board, Aptamil's good. Comfort milk has some of the milk proteins already broken down so it's easier on baby's stomach. It is also thickened more than regular formula so you'll need to use a bigger teat. It can have side effects though - can make baby's poo greenish for while!

That's true for me.Aliyah was on the SMA and she was always getting very bad trapped wind and constant constipation and i have heard this happening to alot of babies on SMA but then again some mums swear by SMA so it is what suits your baby x
