What is the Average 2bdr rental where you are?

Can be anything from £300 to £1000 + depending on the area.

We're paying £750 for a very nice 2 bed house. Its a alot cheaper than the area we used to live!

Well in West Sussex, which is around 20 miles from London and on the direct trainline you can pay around £800-900 PCM for a 2 bed house, so sometimes its worth doing that little commute rather than paying over the odds to live in a tiny 2 bed flat in the city :)
I've never rented though, I would have to move to a much cheaper area in order to match what I pay on my mortgage.

probably about $900 - $1200 in my specific area

Around here it ranges from around £450-475 per calendar month to around £600-£700 PCM depending on the area. Me and oh are looking to move into a 2 bed property and our budget ATM is around £500 per month max. We've seen that you can get some really nice places around here for as little as £450 but ATM we're still saving and aren't ready to look properly yet, which is annoying as knowing our luck we won't be able to find anywhere as nice as what we've found in the past!

I have noticed that the further away from London you are the cheaper it is to rent, someone I know just outside of manchester is renting a 2bed flat in a decent area for a measly £350 per month. The only places around here that are that cheap are house shares.

I paid $1000 for a 2 bed room apartment in Edmonton. Now I pay $1500 plus all bills for a 4 bedroom house.

about £900 for a 2 bed flat. we're in a commuter village thats 20 mins on train to london

Around here, £1400 we found out recently..(that's just rent)

According to primelocation, the most expensive 2 bad flat in my are is 1,250.00 GBP = 2,033.93 USD

And the cheapest is 525.00 GBP = 854.199 USD

Depends greatly on the individual village within the area!

$ 1000-1100 in my area (which is a bit expensive) but those are the prices for the past 2 years after the recession so they'r 30% less than 2 years back. We pay $ 2500 for 4 bedrooms spacious apartment. We live in Sharjah, a similar apartment in a similar area (by a lagoon or beach with full services, etc) in Dubai is 30-50% more expensive & it's 50-60 % more expensive in Abu Dhabi.

I find this link interesting...

"One vivid way to illustrate the relative purchasing power of wages is to replace the abstract basket of goods and services with a specific, highly uniform product that is available everywhere with the same quality, and then calculate how long an employee would have to work to be able to afford it in each city. For the first time, a non-food product was used in the study to compare working hours. The iPod nano with 8 GB of storage is an ideal example of a globally uniform product. An average wage-earner in Zurich and New York can buy a nano from an Apple store after nine hours of work. At the other end of the spectrum, workers in Mumbai, need to work 20 nine-hour days – roughly the equivalent of one month's salary – to purchase an iPod nano."

Ummm What does that have to do with rentals costs in peoples various regions?

We have a nice 2 bedroom in Southern Ontario (Niagara Region) and it is $650.00 inclusive - we got really lucky when we found this place.

Normally in this area a 2 bedroom apartment would be around $760 - $900 for a nice 2 bedroom.

Ummm...thanks for pointing that out...not sure why you would...but, just thought it was interesting as we are talking about what people can buy with their money in each region. :flower:

ummm you have this thread confused with another one I think. I am the one that started this thread and it is not about what you can buy with your money in each region. It is about how much a 2br apartment costs in each region people are in. Two totally different things.

Oh , excuse me...didn't mean to hijack...no, I am not confused...was trying to further the discussion with extra info. Will remember for future reference that you don't like extra input. I just really thought that was a neat site, is all. It is a forum for talking and sharing and that is all I was doing...no need to get offended about it.

I am not offended at all. It is just this thread is a very specific subject to rental prices. If you want to start a thread about the other things you can. I prefer this one to stay on topic which is why I started it.

Most threads I start I have no issue with extra subjects added in. This one though is very specific. Thanks for understanding.

Completely relevant!! If some areas of countries/world make more per hour than rent will probably be higher in that area more than an area where pay is less. Everything evens out in the end (generally).
