They are pretty much identical. The ingredients in first milk are tightly regulated so there is not much room for difference. Hipp Organic is even cheaper than the other brands. Aptamil work on the theory that parents will think that if it costs more it must be better so they buy it because they want their baby to have the best. But as i say, they are all the same (apart from the specialist formulas such as comfort milk and infasoy)
Ah right! I didn't know there was a size difference in the container. I mostly breastfeed so I only buy formula in the ready to serve cartons which tend to be the same size between the brands except sma.
I think the differences are the "quality" of ingredients used (which mothers couldnt really check to see if its true or not!) and the fact that Aptamil has slightly more LCPs in it (21mg compared to C&G 15mg as far as Im aware). xxx
