Hi ladies,

For the last week I have been getting shooting pains in my lady bits:blush:Last night I was getting heaps..... Does anyone know what this actually is? I have read alot of people are experiencing this, but do not know why? Or what it is from.

I guess I'm just hunting for signs that bubs is looking to move out:cloud9:

My MW said its from all the blood circulation in the cervix and the nerves are really sensitive, but others have said its dialation? maybe its both?

my doc said it can be just everything stretching, or also dilating. so... :) fx'd cause I've been having it for about 2 weeks now. LOL

Mine is from LO being breach and kicking the heck out of my cervix. Someone forgot to tell him its not a trampoline

I can only hope it's baby dialating :cloud9: that would be exciting, especially because the shooting pains are a little more painful tonight:shrug: will have to ask the midwife at my appointment on Monday.

im getting them a lot today and they are very painfull :(

Hello,

I'm also having these pains i'm 8 days overdue and already 2cm dilated they are very painful tonight making it hard to walk around etc im hoping this means something is happening down there baby is head down already and I had a sweep on Wednesday being induced Wednesday if i make it. Just concerned about pains as never had them in last to pregnancy's :( Is there no sure answer for the pains ?

its pressure from babies head pushing down on your cervix. also could be the cervix thinning out. i get this a hell of a lot after dtd, during a BH and when bub is moving.

I get this too and I think it's from babys head pressing on the cervix.

I had shooting pains like knitting needles going up (sorry tmi) and other times felt more like UTI which I didn't have. Baby was engaged and I went to hospital when they became really bad and I wasn't dilated at all. They decided mine was severe nerve pain (it would make me drop to the ground in agony for a few seconds when it got bad). I worked out if I held in my lower tummy muscles it lifted him off the nerves and hurt a lot less. I was a bit scared as I still had over a month left of my pregnancy, but he had other ideas and arrived about 3 and a half weeks early (so only a week of it being bad). The pain has since gone and I don't think it affected my labour- phew!

Thanks :) puts my mind at ease a little i mean they are allot worse when she is moving around so would make sense why it hurts so much. Mine can be the same NashiPear i cant walk or stand makes it so hard on my other two though especially little Grace she is one and running around and very clingy to me at the moment not been able to pick her up for ages as the pains are to bad and i'm scared ill drop her, luckily for me her older sister Maddison helps out allot and they spend most of the day running around after each other. I just hope i have this baby before next Wednesday I have already experienced being induced and i must say its not something i wish to do again. :(
