What on earth is going on? Strange/worrying?

Okay, I might be going crazy but didn't the forum used to have something to stop people saving the images? I just realised it's no longer there... when did that happen? I knew it was a public forum and if people REALLY wanted they could always screenshot and crop... but this just makes it so easy? Or has it always been this way, and I've finally lost it?

Also... why do adverts (but just the sound) keep playing? Both me and my friend have noticed, so it's definitely the forum... what the hell's going on? x

I don't know about the advertisements, but I did do a test and I can save your avatar to my computer. That creeps me out...you don't want sketchy people trolling and saving pictures of you and your baby...obviously that's a risk you take posting pictures online, but to make it so easy is a bit concerning...

I noticed the photo thing a while back too :/

thats y i never put my beautiful daughters pic on u r so right!

creeps out there sick world dam shame

I have never tried to save someone elses photo before, but I can't imagine it is possible to make photos unsaveable for the users. I doubt anything has changed. When posting pictures it is important to be mindful of the fact ANYONE can be viewing and saving.

Hadn't noticed before or after with the pictures as we have none anywhere online of Myles, but TBH the people you're worried about saving your picture would just do so via screen shots as you said. If they did want pictures of your child, I don't think an extra step or two would stop them.

Them bloody adverts! Twice yesterday I had them playing! When they come on, if you scroll to the very bottom of the screen, there will be a video playing on the left hand side. You'll just have to pause it or mute it.
The photo thing seems weird. No, an extra step or two wouldn't stop someone who REALLY wanted to save your photo, but by taking that extra step away, it looks like its being encouraged!

It's very easy to get round that, without even taking a screenshot. There is no way to protect any image posted on the internet really. If you can view it, you can save it if you know how.

I doubt anyone would be up to anything sus though.

Oh I know that's the risk we take! I'm just sure there used to be something stopping people saving images. I'm not strange and trying to by the way, I right clicked a DP by accident while trying to open someone's profile in another tab, and saw the option to save the image. I remember a while ago trying to save a really funny pic and not even being able to right click on it.

And thank you flubdub! Never again shall I resort to just turning the speakers off :haha:

The images being prevented from right click is only within posts and still works.

I just tested with this random photobucket picture I found on google and on my computer I cannot right click the image to save. It never worked for signatures in the first place but all post pictures and signatures are hidden from guest view as a default setting. Also Google is instructed not to cache any of the avatars so these won't appear on Google images, if you are interested in that extra bit of information.

I'm sorry but above everything BabyandBump IS a public forum and you enter all information on the forum at your own discretion (as would do on the entire internet).

Ad concerned has already been raised with the relevant department.

Wobbs I searched something to do with babyandbump a few weeks ago and Special_Kala's old avatar picture came up x
