What should I count as CD1?

Good morning!

My RE started me on BCP in anticipation for IVF cycle, however things changed and we were told we do not have to go straight to IVF. My DH and I decided to do one cycle natural and give my body a hormone break then start an IUI cycle after that. The nurse told me to finish the BCP packet and then call them on CD1 after my natural cycle (If we don't get pregnant O:) ).

Well, I started bleeding on 2/5 and it was my normal period length. But the last active BCP was on 2/8.

I counted 2/5 as CD1 because that was my first day of bleeding. I usually have a 27 day cycle so today I am 2 days late... BFN yesterday. I didn't track ovulation, we just bd'd every other day or around that pretty much all month so I know I could be off with the ovulation time but we should have hit it with the bd'ing.

Not sure if anyone knows the answer to this but I thought I would try to see if anyone out there has had this situation or know someone who has. Is cd1 1st day of bleeding or 1st day off the pill? I would call my RE but I have been having touble with them and I am beginning not to trust anything they say so after this IUI cycle we are going to change to a different RE.

Thank you soo much and :dust: to everyone!!!
