I'm in Finland and pay 20% tax and it covers:
Income tax
Health insurance tax
Municipal tax(which includes unemployment and pension tax I think)
Oh and I think there's a tv/radio tax nowadays instead of the tv license but don't know how much that is
And VAT on things I buy
Not sure how it would be different if I was working but I'm on benefits so they just automatically take 20% and I get some back at the end of the year but according to my tax paper my basic percent (for income tax) is 7,5% and Municipal doesn't go according to income, I think its about 20% and Health Insurance I think is 1,7%.
