What test is best?

Thanks, I am, but also scared/worried anxious... which I suppose never really goes away! Lol!

I love answering TTC questions, I spent a year here so I learned a lot, lol.. I'm new to all the first trimester/pregnancy stuff!

One reason to wait until 10dpo is that if you think you see a line, you can test again at 12dpo... if you get a super faint line or aren't sure if you're imagining it.. you might use your 2nd test sooner :haha: I did that a few times!

Also I think the pee concentration is more important than the time of day. My afternoon pee is always much darker than my morning pee... you can pee in a cup so you're sure your pee is concentrated before wasting a test.

the 10miu tests can catch it 6 days before AF is due.... but you have to get those online to my knowledge...

Hi there! I've read afew of your posts and want to firstly say a huge congratulations on your BFP!!! I really hope everything goes well and secondly I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I'm in month 3 of TTC and to be honest I'm finding the whole experience a little overwhelming. I don't want to use OPKs just yet but I'm not ruling it out over the next few months. So, trying to calculate my 'fertile window' and know when to test etc. has been hard. For the last 2 months I've been testing 6 days my period if due with FRER tests and been bitterly disappointed! Last month my AF was 4 days late and I honestly thought I was PG - I was even experiencing symptoms - which must have been my mind playing tricks on me!!! I'm hoping this month for a BFP - AF due on the 17th so going to try and hold out and test on the 18th if AF is late - heres hoping!

Best of luck on the pregnancy and best of luck to all you lovely ladies - lets hope (&pray) we all get our BFP too soon!!!

McLaren- if OPKs seem a bit too much, maybe track your CM? Its easy enough to do when you go to the bathroom... may ladies can figure out their fertile window by CM alone, and can tell when they ovulate because their CM will go from very fertile slippery/stretchy to suddenly dry, or sticky or creamy.
I know at first that CM was more intimidating than OPKs to me, lol... but if you overcome the 'ick' factor its quite easy and almost second nature.

Good luck!!! I experienced symptoms almost every single month tbh... and each month was kind of different.. its impossible not to be on alert for symptoms and be watching for them. And I had the least 'likely' symptoms on the month of my BFP :dohh: My BBT temp had dropped 2 days in a row (implantation dips are usually only 1 day) and I was having AF-like cramping... which apparently happens in early pregnancy.
For all my symptom spotting, I didn't catch my BFP with symptoms.. only the test, lol

For all you ladies ttc try temping along with opk's and whatever else u do now to ttc. I love temping because I know when I o'd and also it can help me figure out when my period will come. As far as testing is concerned the earlies I ever got a positive was 12dpo and it is so depressing to get those negative tests and really expensive. Try to wait if u can but if not I totally understand just don't be too upset u could still be pg and testing too soon.

Well I tested yesterday and today and got a BFN with using the FRER tests..

I'm getting very doubtful, not so much for the tests..but I have pretty much no symptoms! My backs a bit achey but I've been doing alot of lifting recently so that explains it.

I'm moody but i am usually so no change there!

I'm going to leave it for a week as AF if due next wed...so we'll see!

I know several women who say they had NO symptoms, and were just a little more tired. So don't give up.

Hi LisaF, I've been offline for the weekend. How are you feeling? I had a pretty hectic weekend. I've made plans every weekend this month to try and fight the urge to stress over AF and testing. I am due AF either this wednesday 15th or this friday 17th - AF ranges between 30 and 32 days. I am trying to hard not to think about it but, it is beginning to take over my mind the last few days. I am willing for the witch to stay away. I have had zero symptoms this month - every other month I've been analysing every ache, pain, feelings of nausea etc. but this month - NOTHING.

Thanks for your tips re CM and OPK's. I'll try CM this month and then OPKs next month if AF arrives. God this is sooo complicated!

God this is sooo complicated!
No kidding!!! I never knew that my body was so complex in this one area alone!

Jelle - any new tests taken? Or waiting for a late AF?

well AF is due wednesday so i'm gonna see what happens, was meant to buy some HPT's in town today but I got sidetracked and completely forgot :dohh:

Soo.. think I'll wait until AF is late and then retry, i've had no symptoms as of yet apart from I've been SO tired! but I think that's just me.

Also my next 'free day' is monday, so looks like i won't be buying any more HPT's till then. :(

aw, well keep us posted! Your ticker said 1 day until testing so I figured you would have caved in by now

Haha nope!
I think im losing hope so i'm just gonna wait rather than wasting money :(

How're you doing? x

Aw, I understand, but keep us posted when you do test! :hugs:

:( sorry to hear that :hugs: The only bright side is that at least you're not stuck in limbo, right?

well....AF never came?!
still haven't done another test though, im too nervous.

I can't take the wait. Test! Test! <j/k> https://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb252/Ronnies_Pets/smileys%20emoticons/smiley-laughing024.gif

I'm such a freak sometimes. I look forward to hearing about BFPs. It give me hope. https://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww173/prestonjjrtr/Smileys/my_fingers.gif

I would definately go with the First Response. They picked up that I was preggo with my DD when I was 9dpo! I used Clearblue Easy and either got 2 false positives yesterday or I'm having a chemical pregnancy becuse this morning I got a negative FRER and digital. I should have known better because blue dye tests aren't that great/reliable. I really hope the tests were just faulty and I didn't have a chemical pregnancy, because the line was pretty faint and I heard you can't trust blue dye tests!! Good luck!!

I hope and pray it's not a chem pregnancy. Blue dye tests have been given the worst marks on the internet. How many DPO are you? FRER and digi's are definitely the best way to go. (Unfortunately also the best for picking up chem pregnancies...) Hope you get your https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c163/Crzy4Tink06/Emoticons/icon_BFP.gif soon!!!
