What tests should they give you before IVF

Hey ladies
Well were on the ivf waiting list, just wantin to know what tests they normally give the lady before starting the treatment for ivf!!

I have had the hsg all ok, and loads of bloods etc, interal scan pcos found but mild case..

Do they normally do a lap before ivf?

Thanks huni, its taken long enough for weight to come off..
I dont think i have endo and my tubes are clear and everything inside looks good as far as the nurse said with the HSG..

Waiting list is a pain, just waitin for funding to re start in April for our PCT and hopefully get the ball rollin then to begin the process.

Hi,

I had lap and dye test, so many blood tests and also a cycle of follicle tracking before being referred for IUI, however fertility clinic did an advanced SA for DH and they found a problem and so we have ended up having to have IVF ICSI. I think they did the lap with me as the NHS SA came up perfect but they had missed something

Well we know its OH that has problems with his sperm numbers, and only thing shown on me is the mild pcos..

I had loads of bloods etc and hsg so hoping we can just start the treatment I mean i know we gotta give more bloods etc before we do the IVF etc but im hoping i dont have to be put through a Lap and dye x

Hi I think if you have had an HSG they don't need to do a lap and dye unless there's a reason to have a closer look at your womb or ovaries. I may be wrong though. x

a clear smear is needed before a cycle can start, my mistake then had to delay start to wait for results

I'm not sure of all the tests that you have to do, but I had an HSG done before my IUI's, which showed my tubes were open. I also had done a day 21 blood test before the IUI's, too. We just started the IVF route and I had a sonohysterogram today and then do some more blood work on Monday. I'll also have to do some blood work on day 3 of my next cycle. I think that should be it, but I'm not sure. I'll let you know if I have any more tests! Good luck!

I have had all the cd3 blood and cd21 bloods and more bloods checking for hormone levels etc and a hsg which showed clear tubes..

I think i may need the blood to run for hep and HIV cause all these are standard when going through ivf as i have read but OH has given 3 samples all which are low and i have given loads of blood through the gyno when they were helping us ttc..
I had a smear few months back as well, so i know im up to date on the smear, unless they want another one!

im starting ivf icsi as soon as my period comes to get bloods done either day 2-5 make sure im not going through the menopause they also need an update smear with ive had also update day21 bloods then i should start treatment in 3-4weeks time, didnt think there was waiting lists we got ours when we needed it hope u get it soon

major check will be all yours and OH's karotypes, blood works to make sure theres nothing that will end the pregnancy once it works.
