I know it's a little early to think of baby names but I just can't help it! Don't you ever just have names pop into your head that you LOVE? Only to forget later lol? I do! I have quite the unique name and I am hoping to come up with something equally as unique and beautiful for my baby boy/girl some day!! (SOME DAY SOON!!) What names do you guys really love??? I am definitely NOT going with anything generic, my child will have a stand-out name like his/her mama!! :D

I can't think of any unique boy names (I love Jackson Randall, Randall after my dad) but a couple girl names I'm digging are:

-Azriel Althea (I love how that goes together for some reason)
-Sabrien Hannah (Hannah is my mom's name, Sabrien I came up with in high school haha... I'd call her "Saber" for short! Sabrien maybe could be a boy name, too!!)

Anyone have any unique names you like?

My DH and I have been talking about baby names since we started dating 5 yrs ago! We like...

GIRL: (middle name probably would be Kathleen)
-Alice (my great grandma's name. We feel pretty certain this would be the name we would pick if we eventually have a girl)
-Violet
-Coral or Cora

BOYS (middle name will be Eric since every boy in my DH side has Eric as first or middle name):
-Alden
-Luka
-Adix (old family name on my husband's side)
-Axel

Apparently we just gravitate to A names, but if we have a girl named Alice, I don't want to be too matchy so probably would not pick an A name for a boy then.

LOVE the names Violet and Axel! I was a huge Guns n Roses fan growing up, I should name a boy Axl! haha. I just figured it would be good to get our minds off of "OMG AM I PREGNANT!?" by thinking of other things! I'm taking a sewing class so I can make some baby stuff custom!

Randall is my dad's middle name! For a boy : Micah Brendan Randall and a girl : Summerlynn Arabeth Jayne <3

Nothing Unique since that's not our style but some ideas are:

Girl: Julie (front runner), Sara, Nadia?

Boy (he'd have Serge as a middle name either way in honor of my father who died of lymphoma when I was 20): Christian, Christoffer

My DH would prefer though no names that start in K or C as both have K sounds and both our names have a K sound at the start so he'd think it'd be too silly:shrug: So we have a huge problem with the boy names:dohh: Strangely enough, I prefer Christian (my idea) but DH suggested Christoffer despite it going against his rule:wacko:

Will have to do more thinking when I do see my BFP as the list is a bit short for each. We'll be one of those couples who don't want to know the sex of the baby (so we'll be Team Yellow:yellow:) until I give birth since we'd think it'd be fun. Also we're not into the whole girls only wearing "girl colors" and boys wearing "boy colors" so we'd just buy stuff that'd be good either way.

I'm an American living in Denmark but still have family in the US so it'd have to be a name that's easily pronounceable in both countries. So we're looking at Danish names that can be pronounced by Americans.

For me...

Evelyn Mary for a girl - be known as Evie. (Mary after my Godmother and OH Nan)

For a boy it is harder... Maybe something like - Samuel, John, Thomas, Luke.... something normal.

xx

We started talking about names when we started dating! It's been a couple years now we're TTC next month.

James Daniel for a boy. My dad is Daniel James and his is James (don't know middle name). I didn't like James at first but it has grown on me and DH agreed that I could call him Jamie instead of Jimmy. I don't like Jimmy or Jim.

DH is being stubborn about girls names. We're pretty much down to Scarlett Everly or Everly Violet nn "Evie" but I'm not so sure about either. I loved Violet and Lucy but DH said no. We already know more than one Nora. Names are hard! No family names we like or would feel okay using.

wlovew,
have you checked out the entire board on BnB devoted to talking about baby names? it's a goldmine!!

even before i was married, before i was even dating my husband, i have loved talking about names. and then when my husband and i started dating, we talked about name a lot. mostly because so many people in our families have the same name:

husband's first name = my younger brother's name and both my grandpa's names
husband's middle name = my older brother's name

it was so funny when i found out my husband's full name when we first started dating!!:haha:

Mexx,
my grandma's name was Evelyn, and is similar to my husband's mom's name, too, and it's sort of growing on me. Evie is cute:thumbup:

Rscha,
my dad's name is James, and it's also my younger brother's middle name. my husband and i both like it for a girl's middle name. i am a total daddy's girl too, so it's be nice to give a future daughter part of his name. my husband really loved his grandpa, whose middle name is James too, so it works all around!

has anyone used the baby name voyager?
https://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager#prefix=&sw=both&exact=false
it's really fun to look at what names are popular, and when they were popular, and how popular (how many per million babies, etc) or just general name trends. even just looking up your own name and seeing how trendy it was (or wasn't) during the decade you were born in. my name is a "one hit wonder" with a triangle chart, similar to Ashley or Jennifer or Heather. hello children of the 80s!:haha:

my husband just walked in the room and i asked him what he thought of Evelyn and he said, "oh, that's nice. Evie."

i also like the name Ramona, but i anticipated him not liking it. so i threw it out there to see his reaction. he likes it!!:happydance: i mentioned the book "Ramona the Pest" and he said, "yeah, there's also Ramona Flowers, a comic book character." i should have known it was comic book or video game related:roll::haha:

i said "i think Ramona would need a more girly middle name than James though. Ramona already feels like a strong name and needs something to balance it out...Ramona Ann, or something?" and he says, "that's exactly what i was going to say." ugh, i love him.

A couple months ago, my OH and I picked Adellaine Grace for a girl and Kevin Matthew for a boy. My dad's name is Kevin, so that was really special to me.

However, the other day we were talking about it, and OH said that he actually really doesn't like the name Kevin, and was just sort of going along with me a couple months ago because having a baby didn't seem "real" yet. I'm pretty sad about not using Kevin because that was really special to me. So now we're back to square one with boy names. OH likes Grayson, but I like just Gray. But I haven't even really started looking at boy names yet because I'm still carrying the torch for Kevin.

I love the names Noah and Madeski. I have a hard time with girls names. The in-laws will freak if I pick something stronger than James or John though.

My favorite girl names are Waverly Grace and Caitlin Marie. My dad's name is William so I would love to use his name as a first name for a boy and call him Will, but DH isn't sold on the idea just yet.

Love all the names!!! I know some families will want to go with more traditional names. I hated having a weird name growing up but as an adult I can really appreciate it!!! I love thinking of names because it takes the mind off the TWW! As a little girl I loved the name Crystal because I loved rocks and crystals, haha! My mom's name is Hannah and I would love to incorporate her name into my little girl's name. And my dad's (and oldest brother who passed 3 years ago, RIP) name, Randall, if I end up with a little boy.

wlovew, Hannah always seems like such a nice name to me...like the owner is down-to-earth and very sweet.

DH and I have settled (maybe?) on Troy Michael or Delilah Marie.

:happydance:

Although, I find my conviction to wax and wain.

DH and I have had our names picked out since we started TTC in January.

Girl: Mariyah Charlene (Charlene is my mom's middle name, and DH's grandmother's name)
Boy: Jaxsin Lukas (Jaxsin (or rather, "Jackson") is the combination of Jack (DH's great uncle) and Lawson (my grandma's maiden name))

I like unique spellings of names, and so does my husband. Plus, our last name is a difficult to spell and pronounce German name, so I have to give my children's future teachers a bit of grief ;)

I agree with tankel, Hannah is a lovely name. I envision Hannah to be a precious, sweet, and loving little girl.

Love all these names!

We're another couple looking at Evelyn, here. DH actually pulled it out of nowhere one day and I was immediately smitten with it. Not sure on a middle name. I've always loves Grace, but being we have a G last name, not leaving a child with EGG for initials. I can just imagine the teasing. So thinking maybe Raye, which was another I've often liked. Aside from Evelyn, though, DH and I haven't found any major agreement lol. I've suggested Victoria (nickname Tori) and it's a no go from him. He's said Dakota, but I'm not sure I love it, but it's growing on me. For boys, we really have no ideas. I have thought I want to honor my late grandpa, who was a major part of my life, in some way. His name was Leonard, so proposed maybe using Leo for a middle name anyways. Guess time will tell!

Ha, talking names is always fun. :happydance:

For a boy we both like Ethan and for a girl, Olivia. Middle names are up in the air! OH and I have very different tastes in names. For a boy I'd love Ethan James after my grandfather, but he doesn't like James and likes my grandfather's middle name Robert better (which I don't like as much, lol).

I keep wondering if Olivia would be too close to my friend's daughter, Livia if we were to choose that one. I haven't seen my friend in years since I moved so it may be okay, but I keep waffling on my decision. I've got time though!

Oh my....Delilah I just LOVE!! And Waverly, I really like that too!! I also love Hannah, even though my mother has always gone by her middle name, Lois, because she hated her name Hannah for some reason! It is so tough to think of boy names tho! I think if I have a boy he will certainly be Jackson Randall. I just can't imagine anything else!

This name game is a ton of fun!! I think I'm going to buy a journal tomorrow and start writing them down!
