Hi all my babys due date is 8th december but been told Il have her 1 or 2 weeks early by c-section or being induced so will make her them few weeks older then my ticker by xmas!

Question is I really dont know what to buy her :dohh: There isnt that many newborn toys (they all seem to do the same) and she will get most of them brought by family and friends when she is born, same with clothes she will have loads and I want to go the Next boxing day sale anyway so Il get most of her clothes for the next couple of months then.

So what do I get her ?? My mom said I can still buy her 3mnth (which I brought today) and 6 mnth toys. Do you think? il just have to keep them til she is that age but then there not really xmas presents are they if she dosent make use of them til 5mnths later.

Im so stuck on what to get. I was talking to Oh today saying its not the best to have a birthday right by xmas because the next time she will get lots of presents she will be 12months old. I thought I would just have to save my money and buy the 6mnth and 9 mnths toys when shes comes to that age even though there not near xmas.

I know being so tiny she will mainly be asleep all xmas day but I want to get her lots of stuff, I feel stingy buying clothes now and putting them aside for christmas for her when if she was born any other month I would of brought them just because. Like I brought some 4-6mnth clothes today and would of just put them with the rest of the of the bigger things and then I thought O I could put them away for xmas  Even the clothes she wont be able to make use out of til 3 mnths after xmas.

O dear I have rambled haha what am I going to do??

I know she wnt even remember the day but I dont want her to look back at photo's and be like mom why did I hardly have anything for my 1st xmas? or mom why did you get me a bike for a 18mnth old? :haha::haha:

Tbh hun i wouldn't bother buying much, She will be have no clue what so ever. You will no doubt have everything you need anyway, so why not just get a babies 1st xmas teddy & a new outfit? My bump is due end of november & there is no way i'm going out spending on xmas presents for him, He will have everything anyway & will be to young for toys, so i'll be getting a teddy, prob a rattle & the odd toy IF i see one on offer which could get used in a month or 2.

We got loads for Joseph last year and he was 3 months old, he honestly only noticed 1 of his toys (a glow worm which he still sleeps with now), the rest were completely ignored for ages! So I would say definitely don't buy too much, maybe a couple of small things, but like you said your LO will get lots of presents from others anyway, you might as well save your money xx

We've been wondering this as our LO will be about 3 weeks old then. We've decided we probably wont get much other than token First Christmas gifts, more keepsake style ones, and I'm sure other people will probably get her much the same or toys etc!

My LO was only 6weeks at xmas last year and we didn't want to spend loads on something he wouldn't be able to use so we got him something to keep. We also bought him a present each kept it secret and wrapped it up for the other one to open on xmas day that way there was still an eliment of suprise. I got him a silver money box and DH got him a teddy
