What to count as cycle day 1?

I normally count cd1 as the day my af starts. I normally start of with brown spotting but its normally red within about 24 hrs. The last couple of cycles i've spotted for a couple of days before af has really got started so should i count day 1 as the day it starts 'properly'?

I've also read you should count cd1 as the day your temps first drop? confused now lol

I thought the rule was that you counted CD1 from when you needed to use tampon/pad, so spotting didn't really count. I know this can be hard, especially if you start with spotting... as it's so hard to tell the difference between 'light' and 'spotting', esp if it seems to come and go. I often look back on my cycle at the end (i.e. considering when ov occured and cycle length etc.) and see if my CD1 looks right in retrospect. Sorry I can't be more help.

spotting doesn't really count as CD1 i've always been told to count from full flow.

yeh count full flow hun as soon as u need a pad or tampon xxxxxxxx
