Hi, not been on over the holidays. I suspect I have had a mmc, I was getting strong +ve hpt until 5-6 weeks pregnant (this was 6 weeks ago!!). With the schools being off I have been unable to go to the docs or epu as I have noone else to have my daughter for me and there was no way I was taking a 5 year old to that docs appt!

I had symptoms up until the time my hpt started fading then all of a sudden everything stopped.

I tried getting to the docs today but they couldnt see me so I rang epu who said they'd see me but need a referral. I will try and get to docs tomorrow for bloods to confirm.

I have had no bleeding over the 6 week holidays except for a small amount right at the beginning which prompted me to take the other tests (I had a mc in March so have an idea of what kind of bleeding to expect).

For reasons unknown to me I took an opk today and it is the strongest positive I have ever had, twice as dark as the test line. What on earth could cause this? I'm pretty sure I couldn't ovulate while waiting to mc so what could it be anyone???

Nobody any ideas? I have tried googling it but nothing relevant comes up.

Maybe you're still pregnant hunni you don't know for sure you've miscarried until you have some tests.
OPKs gave me a raging positive every time I tested with one a few weeks ago... not tried it for a while. x

Thanks Gemie, when I used the last of my hpt 5 weeks ago it was only a very faint positive. I did do a opk probably about 3 weeks ago and there was a line but nowhere near positive. I just dont know what to think, I really don't feel pregnant and all symptoms I had have vanished totally.

I really don't know hun other than you really do need to see a doctor if you think something is wrong b/c if (God forbid) you have mmc there is risk of infection.
I REALLY hope it's good news and little bean is alive and well in there :hugs:

I agree with Gemie, you need to see someone sooner rather than later. It is possible that you are still pregnant, hpt's can be affected by alsorts, what time of day you do them, how much you have drunk and so on... they do also get fainter the further on you get. My symptoms disappeared at around the 8 week mark, and have now made a re-emergence with a vengence!

Best wishes and i hope you see someone who can shed some light for you soon! xxx

I will definitely be going to the doctors in the morning! I have just been shopping and grabbed a hpt to put my mind at ease and it has turned +ve as quickly as the control line appeared!

With my loss of symptoms I still very much think it is a mmc but why would my digi conception indicator go down, my ic hpt lines get fainter and fainter (using fmu) then have a stonking +ve 5 weeks later?

I read on poas.com that you shouldn't determine HOW pregnant you are by a hpt b/c they vary so much in sensitivity even tests from the same pack have varying degrees of sensitivity... the only way to determine what's going on properly with with blood work and unltrasound scanning. xx

Thanks so much, is how quickly the line appears anything to go by? It was there as the control line appeared.
I am going to ask my doc to book me in for a scan, I'm not sure I can bear all the waiting with blood work. Epu did say the doctor would do bloods before a scan but couldn't hcg still rise with a mmc?

I think it probably can tbh so the only way you're going to know is through the tests at the docs... Personally I would take the quick line appearance on the test as a good sign... I know it probably doesn't mean anything but it would put my mind at rest a little bit.
