As I've posted elsewhere, I have developed a UTI (cystitis) last night, with blood showing in my urine and have started a 7 day course of antibiotics today, prescribed by my doctor (no choice in the matter).
They are Macrodantin (Nitrofurantoin) 100mg (ONE four times a day for 7 days) and are often prescribed to pregnant women who suffer from this common complaint, throughout their pregnancy.
Do I abstain from i/c and give up the chance of this month (we were doing well so far, so it could be too late already to make that decision)?
Do I wait for a PEAK on my monitor and just BD once on that day only whilst taking the antibiotics? Perhaps using Preseed.
I have asked my doctor, but he is non committal really and just advised to give it a break/take it easy (in so many words, but not very clear). I gather he meant not to keep trying, but he sort of shrugged his shoulders and sat on the fence.
I've posted in another forum to a doctor to seek advice too, so am covering all bases before making any decision at all. Naturally, I would love to keep trying, or at least have one more go, but am frightened of making a silly decision.
I just thought I would ask you all what you would do if you were faced with the same problem, or maybe some of you have experienced this.
