Whats for Dinner tonight?

Special Swiss sausages with crusty rolls for the boys and me a soup with toast. Sigh.

Finding groceries has become so difficult, thinking up meals is quickly my least fave chore atm
Last night we had farfalle tossed with sauteed baby bellas and spinach

Sounds delish! No chance Sebby would eat that though. :/

Aww, isn't it funny how different kids can be? It's one of those dishes all my children love. Then give them something others would say is delish (IDK: chicken fingers, or toasted cheese) and they snub their noses. Though to be fair my eldest on the spectrum is a fair amount pickier than some of the other kids, seems to be a common thing (textures especially).

Sebby doesn't like toasted cheese or fish fingers either though will occasionally be ok with chicken nuggets. With him it doesn't seem to be a texture thing but his pickkiness is driving me up the wall. But for veggies he only eats cucumber and lettuce these days.

Oh, I'd imagine so. Especially at a time like this if he were to only care for things that are unavailable.

Same here ladies ! Surely all this panic buying has to slow down soon . It’s just not financially possible surely for people to keep buying like this ! We are in this for the long run if only people can see this . All these panic buyers must have enough food now to self isolate for 2 weeks . It’s common sense ! Just one person from each household go out to get supplies 1-2 days a weeks ffs! I’m disgusted and angry.

Over £1 billion in food sitting in people's houses. Crazy.

Food wise we are ok. I've always kept a well stocked cupboard and freezer because I grew up in poverty. Budgeting and stretching meals comes easy to me. Ita just hard finding things like bread, eggs etc. No flour or yeast in the shops to make bread either.

We'll be ok as long as babybels and billy bear isn't panic bought. Thomas would hit the roof if I couldn't get any.

Sean is meant to be cooking a roast dinner tonight but so far I've done all the cooking haha. I had a stuffed chicken joint in the freezer so cooking that along with mash (because thomas doesn't do roast potatoes anymore), carrots, peas, yorkshire pudding and gravy.

I'd usually do cauliflower cheese and some extra stuffing but I don't see the point in making huge meals right now. Hope you're all doing ok food wise.

And in terms of snacking.... ahhh!! I only have the one kid.

Thomas is like a hoover if he's unsupervised. Sean was working in the garden a few days ago and I had gone to get my new glasses (absolutely essential I need to see haha) and he polished off 3 kitkat chunkys in about 20 minutes.

We're not hard up for snacks at all but I'm really drumming into him that he needs to eat his food first then snack and especially ask before taking it all. I'm making sure he has toast or cereal in the morning, sandwich with fruit and cheese and nuts for lunch and a main meal in the evening. He can have snacks in between but he needs to eat his main meals too.

my kids are constantly asking for snacks too. They're going to eat me out of house and home during this time off school!

The boys had chicken wings with fries and Sebby refused to eat the chicken wings. I had veggie sausages with mash.

My thoughts were the same babybump, surely those lot of full up?

Yes, the snacking. Good heavens. We have had a sit down with the kids to talk about the empty shelves and that things need to slow down.
Honestly, they've done brilliantly. Especially for being home all day every day, but yeah. Snack attacks! :haha:

This evening we had pork loin with a mustard and cherry sauce, broiled brussel sprouts and savory sweet potatoes

We have leftovers of yesterdays roast dinner. Thomas will probably have chicken dippers and chips

Pizza for Nick and Dom, doughballs for Sebby. Soup for me.
