whats the deal with sweeps? Can you request them?

Im having a sweep tomorrow at 39 weeks, and im not much engaged, was at brim last time was checked. I know shes not gone in cos when she hiccuped the other night it was down to the left when i was lying on the left, then the right when i was on the right. I have way to much fluid tho so i think its almost impossible for her to engage proeprly untill my waters have gone, shes just floating around the pelvis but cant get in. Also she has a big head and i have a small pelvis, so i think its hard to get her to engage with the fluid there. Anyways, im getting a sweep tomorrow due to the itching, bp up and down and too much fluid. They dont do them here till term so im getting 1 week early, x

thats what she told me too, she said as long as baby was head down and at the brim its perfectly safe and that it will change when you go into labour!

well baby was free at last appointment but has been head down since about 20 weeks.
