I need help, i work 50hrs a week (10hrs a day) on my feet with no breaks at least half the time. My work is extremely stressful and besides having the expected back pain, swelling, and fatigue i am having horrible sciatica pain, which has made my legs go weak and i have fallen and now my knees are covered in bruises from my legs giving out or going numb.. my question is when can i take my leave from work? and will i get disability? my work offers me nothing. i have told my doctor about the sciatica the lasttime i saw him (a month ago) and he just shrugged it off, but it is much much worse and i wasnt falling down which i am now. i cant afford to take any unpaid time off, so i also wantedto know if i could take my leave early, will it cut into my time after the baby is born? thanks in advance for any help/advice.

you can go on maternity leave from 29 weeks and as you do over 16 hours you company pay it if you are really bad your doctor may give you a sick line till the 29 weeks xx

In the US you are only guaranteed they will keep your job for 12 weeks. It starts once you leave. Some employers will allow longer, but aren't legally required to. I've been out since 16 weeks. If you have STD insurance it may cover your leave, if you don't have it then it's likely unpaid unless you have enough sick/ vacation time to cover it.
