im moving back home with my dad, we have a spare bedroom in the house that would be perfect for LO as my bedroom is really warm at times. I know i'll have LO with me for awhile, but would it be worth turning the spare room into a nursery for them. I mean atm all it is a room full of junk which we dont need and not very tidy.. so tbf it might make it look better. the only other problem is that its not right next to my room its next to my dads. i do have a baby monitor though.. whats your oppinions xxx

I think it sounds good but make sure your Dad knows what he's in for! My nursery is right next to my younger sister's room and I had to make sure she was completely okay with it and knew what was going to happen. So make sure your Dad is 100% alright with it! :)

I would suggest its a good idea to have the room ready as a nursery, although you'll have baby sleeping with you for a while when its time to switch them to the nursery it will be much nicer and easier if it is already set up as with a young baby you will be more busy and will feel more rushed if you have to do it last minute :flower:

the reason i wasnt sure whether to do it or not was because i dont know when ill move out with OH atm hes saying he doesnt want to move out yet, so im quite glad because it will be better for me at home, im more relaxed and dont have to pay rent or bills at home, will only have to pay for me and baby. i think i might do a nursery then as we will proberly be there for a year at the most and im going to decorate my room anyways so my dad might thank me for tidying the spare room xxx

Well for the most part, your LO will be in your room sleeping with you when they are really young. Then when they get a few months older they'll be sleeping in the nursery. I've had a lot of women tell me that their baby is a year old and its only stayed in its nursery for maybe 5-10 nights out of the year they've been there.

its up to you, might be a waste of time because you don't know when you will be moving out ?

Personally i would just because thats me lol. My son slept in his nursery from 4 months on. Every night.

If you're got the space, it could be worth tidying the place up and making it a sort of baby-suitable-spare-room-nursery affair...if that makes sense! Rather than spending too much time or money converting it into the ultimate nursery only to have you move out as soon as it's done. Like you said you'll have the baby with you for a while at least, maybe just do it if you have time/energy/resources and if it doesn't happen it doesn't happen?

Thats what i was thinking i could tidy it up and paint it because it needs painting anyways its out of date now peach and blue walls dont look too good together. and even if i only keep babys stuff in there for a while and i can always change my mind and i could try having them sleep in there. id rather it all be tidy for when baby arrives anyways, im going to clea the whole house and get rid of the rubbish we've been harboring for years aha xx
