when can I hear my babys heartbeat for the 1st time? Also will I be havin a midwife apointment before 12 weeks. I Live in england xxxxx

Hi

I'm in midlands and normally here booking is at 8 weeks. You'll get green notes etc and forms filled in inc dating scan booking.

Midwives listen to hb around 16 weeks I think.

If you own a doppler you can pick it up sooner by trying yourself. Make sure you have doppler probe on pubic line and angled down. Small movement and work one side to other. Might take a good 20 mins to find as babe so small. I found mine from just over 8 weeks.

I picked up dd at 8+6 and this one at 8+2! But usually its not that early. By 10 weeks you have a good chance.
