I'm 3 weeks PP, the advice is 6 weeks but seriously I've had enough already!! DH is away so I'm basically house bound.

Anyone else drive sooner than the recommendation?

I drove after 4 weeks. My insurance company said when I could perform an emergency stop I was fine to drive so check your policy :)

My doctor said 2 weeks. I was ready at 10 days, but I waited until 2 weeks.

I was initially advised until my doctor cleared me at 6 weeks, but the doctor said that I could drive as soon as I felt well enough again as long as I could withstand an emergency stop without feeling pain/discomfort. I'm still yet to drive now at 7 weeks pp, but I've been pain/discomfort free since 6 weeks.

If you feel sore in the slightest form from sharp motions then you're definitely not ready to drive yet. Also bare in mind that you could end up in regression around 5 weeks if you push yourself too early.

The best people to check with is the insurance company as some invalidate it at less than 4 weeks x

After a week....I actually didn't know there was a restriction. I felt absolutely fine and my scar didn't really hurt and I needed to go to the bank -so off I went, not knowing that 'you aren't meant to'.

I thought the 6 weeks was mandatory but was told differently by my GP at my 6 week check up. This time I'll see how I feel and will hopefully be driving sooner

I always thought it was safe after a week. I felt immediately better after birth than I did during pregnancy, so I think I waited 5 or 6 days, as I didn't have anywhere to go.

Was feeling fine to at 3 weeks, and signed off by Dr at 4 weeks.

My c-sec was a Sunday and I drove the following Friday, after less than a week.

I drove after about 5 weeks I think, once the pains had basically worn off. I went out with a friend first and did an emergency stop

With Thomas, I drove home from the hospital, so 4 days. The section with Sophie was more painful for some reason, so I waited 7 days. We don't have insurance so that never entered my mind.

I think I drove 2 weeks PP. As long as you aren't on any pain meds it should be fine.
