When did your LO sit by up themselves?

From about 4 1/2 months for a few mins at a time and last few days she can sit for 20 odd minutes on own

Omar started at 4.5 mnths for few mins. At 5 mnths he was sitting supporting his body with his hands, after 1 wk he master it. He started pulling himself to sitting at 6 mnths with a thin pillow under his head & 6 mnths 3 wks he was pulling himself frm back without a pillow. At 7.5 mnths he started to sit frm standing on 4 by moving backward then sitting.

from 4.5 months for a while bit was a bit wobbly, shes gotten better and better and now sits for a good 1/2 hour sometimes with no wobblies, normally chucks herself forward and onto her tummy if shes bored of sitting though!!

I voted 5mo that was for my middle son, my youngest and oldest were 4mo

Daisy still cant really sit up for long at over 7 months. She can do it when she wants to but would much rather me hold her so she can stand :hugs: xxx

My Daisy is the same. She can sit perfectly well but doesn't like to sit and will often just throw herself back or arch her back if I try to sit her down! She prefers to be on her tummy or standing up with my help.

He was sitting unaided for about 20 seconds or so from 18 weeks and staying up on his own for as long as he wanted at 20 weeks.
He has managed to get himself up into sitting once but that was because I waved a peice of chocolate at him, dont know who was more surprised me or him :) I nearly lost my curly wurly :)

Say unaided with cushions at 5 months, sat confidently at 6 months

wow alot of babies sitting unaided at 4 months, when i put unaided i meant, confidentally sitting up on their own, xx

Aisling was abut 6.5 months when she started for a few seconds on her own, then at 7 months she just woke up one morning and was able to sit up on her own without time limits

He's working on it. Technically if I place him sitting, he'll stay for a short while, but he usually tries to get at something, so falls over. So, I'd say not yet, for confidently sitting on his own at 6 months.

im not sure if what max does can be classed as sitting.. he sits with his bum on the floor and legs out in front of him but leans forward on his tummy, so isnt up straight... if this is sitting then 5 months lol but it doesnt look too comfy!

OOHH NOOOO WHY DO I READ THESE THINGS - my boys dont yet and its starting to worry me. :-(

They both CAN they would rather just not - especially as they have now discovered rolling round the floor giggling at each other and there is bugger all I can to to encourage them short of growing two more arms AARRGGHHHH

Anna was sitting confidently for as long as she wants from 6 months:flower:

My little man does this too! I thought it was really odd and doesn't look comfy at all! He'll sit for a while on my lap but as soon as he's on his own he'll wobble and fall over. Starting to think he'll never get the hang of it

That sounds soooo cute!!!

They'll get there when they're good and ready!

Rebecca sat for a short while at 5 1/2 months but I would say it wasn't until she was 7 months that she could confidently do so.

We've a hardwood floor and to be honest, I still have cushions around just in case - she's not needed them for a few weeks though thankfully!
