When did your LO sit unaided?

OOHH NOOOO WHY DO I READ THESE THINGS - my boys dont yet and its starting to worry me. :-(

They both CAN they would rather just not - especially as they have now discovered rolling round the floor giggling at each other and there is bugger all I can to to encourage them short of growing two more arms AARRGGHHHH

Hun, my HV said its nothing to worry about until they're 9 months, some babies are just quicker than others xxx

I wouldnt worry too much, my friend just told me her boy didnt sit intil 13 months and couldnt be bothered with much untill then, apparently he was just chilled and laid back all the time.
In the space of 2 months though he suddenly sat up, crawled, and walked.
He maust take after his father he sits around chilling all the time as well :)

Really - 4 1/2 months seems so young! I didn't think babies could sit up unaided until they were over 6 months! My little guy still has a wobbly head - although he is getting better with it!

Started showing signs of doing it around 5 months, and was sitting with a bit of aid by 6 months, but i'd say definitely by 7 months she was sitting with confidence without aid! :)

wow alot of babies sitting unaided at 4 months, when i put unaided i meant, confidentally sitting up on their own, xx

do you mean as in getting themselves up into a sitting position by themselves and staying there then?

I just mean them sitting on the floor confidentally, no support, and not falling over. I.e. them being able to sit up on the floor and play with their toys x

My health visitor said she never sees babies sitting up confidentally before 5 months, x

my little girl started at 4and a half months. she can now sit totally unaided playing with toys for a good 5-10 mins b4 starting to wobble or topple over.i surround her with cushions so she can fall without harm or in the middle of my bed with loads of toys.

yesterday at 8months 5 days old. she was sort of doing it since 7 months but only for like 10 seconds or so at a time but now its more like 10 mins untill she slips back :)
