When do you apply for CTC/WTC?

Hi guys,

I'm just trying to sort out the finances...hence my rant earlier in the week.

When can I ring the CTC/WTC people and get our application in? I'm on SMP now and I would love to get it sorted out sooner rather than later (have a feeling that the last thing I'll want to do with a newborn is sit on the phone with the tax office!!)

Anyone know if I can do it now? Or will I have to wait until we're all here in the flesh?

you cant apply for ctc until baby is here cos they need to know name and DOB.

if you qualify for wtc get the form and send in, they can process it and then add the child when born.. saves time that way

You CAN work it out though if it helps put your mind at rest... if you search WTC in this section you should find my thread on it - I've got it linked from my signature - but it doesn't show in this section for some reason.

WTC went through really quickly, but I need to do my calcs for the adjustment to time on SSP/SMP this current tax year and let them know. If you want to chat about it PM me
