When do you decide its CD1?

A little debate has come up in one of the diaries about when to consider its day one of your cycle.

For me it would be if i start in the morning then that day is CD1 but if i start in the evening then the next day is CD1.

How do you determine your first day?

i agree with that about morning/evening... but it more about what do you see in you panties? if it's brown/blood discharge is it CD1? or do you wait the full flow to be CD1?

for me usually start brownish/blood discharge and the next couple hours i have the blood coming anyway ...but ARCANEGIRL you get right away the blood right? no discharge at all?

Sometimes i have had old blood, sometimes its straight to the red stuff.

If its brown then id wait untill its full on red before counting it as cd1

so confusing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but really it will be a matter of hour or max a day so we could consider "O" on a 2 days length may be ?

I was always wondering this, as i usually start in the evening...sometimes it is light in the evening, and sometimes its full on w/ massive cramps and i pop a pill and try to sleep. But there are those days where i wake up in the morning in full flow.

I have been counting CD1 as the day i see blood, regardless of it being morning or night, but i've always kept in the back of my head that CD1 *could be* the following day so i usually give or take a day when counting for my next cycle to start lol not very efficient maybe . Always have a set day it may start then give AF 2 extra days 'just in case'. And it hasn't been off schedule yet! last month i calculated jan 28 to start AF and it came on Jan 30 (within my 2 day wait limit)

I cramp for a couple of hours before I get anything and then its red right away. No brown/prink or anything else. I just assumed everyone else was the same, I don't suppose its something you really discuss down the pub is it?

ahaha i think the anonymity of the internet gives me a bit more courage to talk about this sort of thing. I am sure my girlfriends IRL would look at me silly if i mentioned what they count as CD1 (maybe they'll even think i am strange for tracking my cycle like a hawk )

I've got one friend who probably wouldn't as she ttc'd for about a year. Other than that I think they would think I'd lost the plot! Hubby would die if he saw some of the stuff I've posted on here

we having a west coast meet on Saturday at my place for lunch so my husband asked yesterday if i was exited or nervous "because he said i did not know the ladies who were coming " than he posed and said i guess if they know about your CM , when WE BD and how many times we do it during the month or day i guess they kind of know you already
well i am pretty exited about the meet anyhow!!!!

I usually spot with old blood for a few days before, then I will wake up with red blood in the morning. I used to just start with red blood but the past several months I spot.

I usually count the day AF shows in full force. I agree with the two day window though. My cycle appears to be about 30-32 days on average so those variations could be due to counting the wrond day as CD1!

For me CD1 is the day I have heavy red flow.
If it is at night, then that would be day 1. No matter when it happens.. it is always day 1.
