hi all,

lo dropped to just two feeds a day a few months ago, I did encourage this by distracting her etc when she asked to feed sometimes and she was still feeding sooo much if we were at home and it was getting me down! but could go all day without a feed if busy and out!

so now I'm starting to think about dropping the am feed, but I feel so conflicted.

I'm ttc and worried that even two feeds is affecting my lining as af is lighter then pre lo. I know all mine and dh family think its time to stop (all but my sister who fed her lo till 18 months)

but I'm worried ill regret it if we wind down for the wrong reasons.

so how do you know when's best?

Sounds like my dd! If I am at home she will happily nurse every hour, but if she is busy she won't nurse all day! :)

I say do not drop the morning feed until you are both ready for it and since you are asking I think you might not be ready. If you are just doing iot because others want you to then you might regret it later.

She is about the same age my dd was when she started being a more picky eater (she always ate everything and tried new things before!) and I was sooo glad I was still nursing because I knew she was at least getting nutrients from me.

Also, before she might have just be comfort nursing or nursing from boredom. If your boobs didn't get sore when she went all day without nursing she probably wasn't actually eating too much. Maybe the 2 times she nurses now are more for closeness and less for eating.

A lot of people think I am crazy for still nursing but I don't care because I am doing what is best for us. It is a pain sometimes but I really love the closeness. :)

As far as ttc, my sister has 2 children 15 months apart and she was still nursing while ttc, being pregnant, and then went on to tandem nurse.

I have gotten pregnant twice while nursing (one ended up in mc, but had nothing to do with nursing).

Do what is in your heart. :)

thank you, I think you are right that if I'm questioning its not time. she does just live it so! :)
