Hiya girls, this is my first baby and I've just seen the midwife and baby is head down but not engaged. When does this normally happen? I'm seeing her again at 38 weeks.
I'm not worried, I just wondered really :)

My first popped in and out and she didn't properly engage again until I went into labour.x

Mines been popping in and out too. I think shes finally fully engaged as ive "dropped" but not sure still. Some don't pop in until labour like above says, so don't be disheartened!

I think they normally say that baby's head becomes fully engaged in the last few weeks of pregnancy with your first. At 36 weeks, my son's head was 3/5ths engaged, it was the same at 38 weeks and still the same when I went into labour. I thought it meant I would go overdue. I remember coming away from my 38 week appointment really disappointed being desperate to get my son out but it didn't have any effect. He was only a day late x
