When is too early to buy nursery furniture?

I'm curious as to what your opinions are about buying nursery things at 17 weeks? Do you think its too early or bad luck?

I haven't got anything yet, but have seen a real bargin that I want, now i'm unsure what to do??

I think it's down to personal choice hun I don't believe in it being bad luck at all!

I got mine this week. I don't think there's such a thing as too early, especially if it's a bargain x

I think that before your 20 week scan it's still quite early. I'm not supersticious at all, so buying early doesn't bother me, but for us, we wanted to make sure the baby was okay in the scan before we bought the larger items like cots and prams.

Having said that, you also need to research how long companies take to ship the stock to the shops. We are moving abroad, and there they seem to take 16 weeks to get anything in stock, so we would have had to start buying at 24 weeks.

There is no to early hun. People dont miscarry or have a stillbirth because they brouight nursery furniture. Its expensive time , so if you have seen a bargin then go for it.

I was nervous about this too, but IKEA was having a great sale this week, so DH went and picked up two cribs for the Nursery. They will not be put together until after the 20wk scan. I just wanted to get them when they had them at such a good deal!! I won't be buying the bedding or the rest of the items until after the 20wk scan either.

You are doing good! It occured to me earlier in the week that I have only 10 weeks until full term lol I and 13 weeks till 40.....SO I just ordered all the stuff and am waiting for ti to be delivered now! I will say that it can be super expensive and if you found a deal on something you like go for it! If you aren't comfortable putting it up yet, then wait till after the 20 weeks scan! YAY for baby shopping!!

i ordered my cot two weeks ago from mamas and papas, it was in the sale and i really wanted it so thought whats the point in waiting. I also did this with my pram. I ordered the chest of drawers for my nursery last week too in the sale. thats all the furniture im having in the room as i have a massive walk in wardrobe, so all my nursery furniture i bought lol. I dont think its bad luck although i am keeping the stuff at MIL and my Mums meantime x

No i dont think its too early. I have already put a deposit down on the cot we are having because its quite expensive.

Baby things cost so much so the more bargins you can get & the longer you can streach out paying for things the better i say.

we bought the cot a few weeks ago but wont put it up for a couple of weeks yet but it was a good bargain so had to get it. i dont beleive in superstition at all but think its a personal choice. xxx
