when should follicle check take place on clomid?

im on my 1st cycle of clomid, and have heard of scans being given to check follicles, when would this take place? when u have positive opk?
im waiting to be referred to hospital but thinkin of goin for private scan to check this x

I never had a follicle scan, just cd21 bloods to confirm that i ovulated. I just worked it out myself with a cbm, opk's and temping. I think it's more common in the USA.

Mine is done on CD14. If it's any later you might miss it... If it's earlier it doesn't give them time to mature..

I have follicle checks every month and they start scanning on the 10cd and then every two days (10, 12, 14). Not sure why others are not all follicle chacked - it may be because I had an ectopic and only have one tube. The first time I did not release my follicles and one turned into a cyst so now have to have the trigger shot.

thanks everyone, maybe im best off just sticking to 21 day bloods etc then.
im probably getting waaaaaay ahead of myself as this is only my 1st cycle of clomid! x

Hi tink

I started my 1st round of clomid 50mg in May and had scans done and day 12 which showed follices were not getting bigger, I had them done again on day 14 and on day 18 just to check that i was ovulating late, which i wasnt.
So nothing happened just waiting to start my 2nd round on 100mg.
I contined to check my LH levels anyway just in case.

Think that everyone should have a scan done on clomid at least you will know straight away if its working and when u will ovulate!

to be honest i would like a scan to see whats happening, ive never had any sort of investigation apart from day 21 bloods so im a bit nervous but i guess knowledge is power. im trying to find a private clinic who will scan me for follicles but so far im having a nightmare finding anywhere that does it! x
