Missed my period on Friday (1st), got a bfp on Thursday (31st) done 5 more since then hee hee. I was just wandering should i ring for an appointment 2day or do you think theyll think im a bit early. Im a bit of a wuss! What do i say???

I went in and collected a sample bottle first, handed that in the next day then when i got my results they made me an appointment to see the midwife.

Congrats !!!

I had mr dr's appointment just 4 days after my BFP! then a midwife booking in appointment was made for 2 weeks after that. xxx

I still haven't had a doctors appointment to confirm my pregnancy. Although I had some bleeding around 7 weeks and had a scan where they made me an appointment for my 12 week scan which is why I haven't gone. After my 12 week scan I will book a midwife appointment then.

At my GP's office you go in for an appointment, tell them you're pregnant, they do a test and give you some advice on do's and don't's (mostly eating/smoking/drinking). Mine was before Xmas, probably around about the 12th of December? And my booking in appointment was for Janary 8th :)

I'd just phone the doctors and ask if they want you to see a doctor or midwife first. Mostly they'll just give you a booking in appointment with the MW which you can make as soon as you like but they usually give you the appointment for about 7 or 8 weeks into your pregnancy. They'll also want you to bring a urine sample.

I made my appointment the day after, saw her on the Monday. I was probably 4/5 weeks then

I rang doctors today 4 an appointment to confirm my pregnancy, only to be told i dont see a doctor now, the receptionist said do a home test if its positive then book to c the midwife wen u 10 wks, i said iv already a test its positive so she booked me in to c the midwife in 6 wks time. personally i think thats crap, cos usually u go to the docs and she gets the wheel out and tells u your due date, its part of the excitement, its a good job this is my 4th and i know how to work out my own due date, and wot i am and am not allowed to eat or do etc, i feel sorry for 1st time mums cos its like bein left in the lerch for 10wks.

Congratulations! I went in immediately (at 4 1/2 weeks pregnant). Although they really don't do much at the appointment (take your history, make sure you know the dos and don'ts of pregnancy etc., and maybe send you for bloodwork) I think it's best to go ahead and get the ball rolling so to speak.
