When should I inform work?

Hi in a bit of a dilemma and would welcome any advice. After being made redundant I finally found another job, but didn't realise it was only a 5 month contract. Anyway, I accepted and the contract is due to end this Thursday. I've asked numerous times if it will be renewed and it has been cleared by the area manager so just waiting for HR.

I'm 21wks and haven't told work yet. Should I wait until I get the go-ahead about my contract from HR? I could always say I didn't mention it as didn't think I would still be there.

So confused what to do for the best.

If it was me id be signing a contract before saying anything. I may possibly play dumb and say id mentioned it with cant you tell.

Just because i do hiring/firing and i know that theyd try to get out f mat pay if poss
