I am so frustrated lol. I had my scan yesterday and had an awkward baby who had it's legs out straight and closed tight together. The sonogropher said she would say probably a girl but not to go out and buy anything just yet. So it's maybe a girl, but I am finding it even more annoying than if I hadn't found out at all!

Anyone else have an unsure answer when looking for gender?
I don't know whether to wait for about 6 weeks and have a 3D scan or book a gender scan sooner. Baby is healthy so i'm happy with girl or boy, but i'm impatient and want to go on a shopping spree! lol

:flower:

I went for a gender scan scan at 17 weeks and was told girl then at my 20weeks was told boy, went back to gender scan and they confirmed boy they were pretty unsure the first time too and baby wasnt playing ball and was hiding bottom end from us x i know its hard waiting but you will know soon enough xxx

How annoying for you. The sonographer told us yesterday we were definately having a boy but Im just a little bit paranoid as I couldn't see a willy haha obviously why Im not a sonographer and she is.
It wont be long until you find out though, glad everything is going well for you xx

EDIT: With my daughter, they said they couldnt be 100% sure but he said he was pretty sure, this time the lady said it was definate. I suppose it must be harder to mistake boys.

I had a scan at 16 weeks, was told 80% girl. Went back at 16+6 and she said girl again. I asked how sure she was and she said 'as sure as I can be, I wouldn't tell you if I wasn't sure' lol. Plus, both times I seen the 3 white lines and there were no sticky out bits lol.

If I were you I'd book a gender scan for as soon as possible and have a sugary drink about 30 mins before you go in. xxx

First pregnancy- sonographer said "pretty sure its a girl but we never say 100% just incase"- she was a girl.
Second pregnancy- baby had its legs closed, no amount of walking, fizzy drinks and belly jigging would move her. We couldnt afford a private scan so stayed team yellow and it was so exciting when i went into labour!
This pregnancy- sonographer said "There we go, boy bits!", OH-"really, its a boy?!", sonographer "yup" then points to his danglies.

I think its harder to tell if baby is a girl. A friend of mine had a totaly of 8 scans during her last pregnancy (she had complications) and at each one was told baby was a girl. They were wrong, baby was born a boy!

Our sonographer wasn't sure first time but thought a girl... the little thing then emptied her bladder so I had to go back in 20 mins later when it had filled again and could be measured.. by then baby had uncrossed her legs and we got a fab view. Defo a girl, was so pleased!!

I know what you mean though, we were desperate to know and I'd have been so annoyed if we had gone away with the not sure verdict. I say go for the scans as soon as you can until you know!

My scan was odd as well. The Dr who preformed it said it was 99% girl but yet not to start painting the nursery yet? He also said to wait until the 32 week one where they can confirm by seeing the labia. He clearly stated there are no boy bits, same as my 13 week scan when I was told 95% girl. So, at the end of the exam when I asked what are the chances that the baby turns out to be a boy, he says "well, it's 99% a girl..." I am still confused! I booked a 4d at 28 weeks to that better be clear!

My tech and doc both said they're pretty sure it's a girl at 16 weeks, said they didn't see any evidence of any male parts and were pretty sure they saw labia. At the anatomy scan (which they were able to do at 17 weeks, to everyon's surprise) they were certain it was a girl and showed me how they knew--they got a top shot of baby's parts and the 3 little bones were obvious (they said 2 little bones for a boy, 3 for a girl).

i asked my sonographer is she was 100% sure and she said to me we cant say 100% but im 98% sure its a boy so that was enough for me lol! i suppose they have to be careful incase they do get it wrong and i sue or something LOL x

I was pleased to see this post - the sonographer seemed to spend a long time looking at my baby's bits before announcing its a girl.

I was thrilled as it was what I secretly hoped for.

Ever since I keep thinking that he did not sound very confident.

Would rather be on team yellow than told one thing and it be another!

Our naughty baby had gathered up all the cord between his or her legs at our 20 week scan today and nothing would persuade the baby to move! He or she even kept putting a hand down there to make sure the cord stayed in place! So after trying for ages the poor sonographer had to give up and very apologetically say it was completely impossible to see anything at all in that area! So we're team yellow now :D

The only time the LO stopped fidgetting so much (after a 45 mins long ultrasound) was to proudly show us his dangly bits. It was very clear! The radiologist said: "I'd be very very surprised if it turned out to be a girl".

Our sonographer used the phrase, "I'd bet money on it." We were lucky enough to get a potty shot which made me feel better about the odds. This is what we saw...
