My daughter will be 3 months on august 6th and she is drinking 8oz every 2hours she acts like she is starving and i am wondering when should i start her ?

Theres lots of different thoughts about this but what i write is just in my experience

i have 4 children, my first (now 11) started on abit of baby rice at just gone 11 weeks, my second (now 8) was about 14 weeks and my third (now 4) was 12-13 weeks i think, my fourth is only 10 weeks now and sowing no signs, i think she will be the latest one

health visitors say not until 6 months, it has changed to 4 months before but back to 6 months now but i believe when the child shows signs of still being hungry, so feeding more often but esp when they start waking up in the night again and cant go so long between feeds and also when they take interest in people eating

i didnt fully wean that young, it started with abit of baby rice, just a couple of mouthfulls once a day the increased it then fruit and veg purees

i always say go with ur gut instinct, its never failed me before, i strongly believe that us mums know whats best for our children

How is her weight gain going? Three months is really young to start cereal. And I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding adding cereal to bottles.

I only introduced cereal at 5 months. My daughter is in the 50th percentile for her weight but she is still a bit of a piggy! I think she would take a bottle every time it was offered, whether she was actually hungry or not. As long as your daughter is gaining weight and has enough wet and dirty diapers then I would hold off on the cereal. But that's just my personal opinion. Maybe check with your pediatrician?

With dd1 we started right at 5 months but she wasn't a fan of cereal unless there was fruit mixed in so we kinda jumped straight to introducing different baby foods slowly.

If they still have the tongue thrust reflex, they are too young. If she is hungry, feed her more milk, she might be going through a growth spurt :) I would personally ask a DR if you are wanting to introduce cereal before 4 months.

Speak to ur dr or hv? They may suggest hungry baby milk rather than cereal. U r advised not to do it before 6 months but if u begin earlier bit to introduce anything until 17weeks as babies digestive systems aren't fully developed until then. We waited until LO was 17 weeks for cereal, ht by then she was sitting up independently, and had lost the tongue thrust reflex. I'd personally say go to ur dr or hv to see what they suggest, LO could well be going through a growth spurt :)

sorry i forgot to say, i tried hungrier baby milk before weaning mine
