... Shopping for LO???
When did you ladies start buying things???
I have the big things from my two other children - cot, bouncer, swing, crib...

But I am putting off actually buying anything because I still feel like is quite early and I might jinx something

I'm dying to start buying some pink tho!!! :haha:

I feel the same way! I am a little superstitious about it all. I am 28 weeks.

I figured I will give it a few more weeks. I have a baby shower coming up at the end of the month.

I started buying things like, random bibs, hats etc when I saw them in the sale! After 20 weeks though, no reason other than I didn't see any other nice baby bits beforehand.

When it comes to your second (for me) you know what you need and what you don't, so buying is easier, especially when picking treats like, a new swing or something.

Start now and just spread the cost :)

I was the opposite! with my first i started about 35 weeks, with this one i started at 20 weeks haha

I have to say I started buying as soon as I knew she was a girl at 17 weeks! I just couldn't help myself! And I'm not superstitious atall, what will be will be no matter what you do :D

Thanks for the replies ladies :flower:
Ya I don't no why I have such a mental block with it, I have been in shops and picked up things and went to pay but ended up leaving them back again!! I was the same with my two boys but I didn't no what I was having then, I might start at 30 weeks :haha:

Just got the rest of the stuff I needed, absolute bargain £200 in Asda's for..

Moses basket stand
Fitted sheets
Blankets
Towels
Cot bedding
Cot bumpers
Cot mobile
dummies
bottles
bottle brush
dummy holders
nappy disposable bin
15 bibs
big box of nappies
baby socks
and so much more i cant remember haha

I started right away at about 4 weeks!!!! I did fertility so I knew right away. Bought gender neutral stuff. Just kept all the tags and receipts just in case. I just finished washing up the last of my sweet baby girl clothes!!!! :)

I started shopping the day I found out it was a girl! :haha: I didn't buy a whole lot and I kept the receipts, but I was too excited and had to but SOMETHING! I bought even more after we had SIX different people confirm that she's a girl (we didn't want to take any chances!).

However, that being said, if you are having any kind of baby shower, I would wait to buy the bulk of what you need. I just had my baby shower last weekend and I was completely shocked by the amount of clothes we got! 46 outfits!!! Not to mention a ton of crib sheets, burp cloths, receiving blankets, etc. We ended up returning a large amount of things we had bought ourselves because of how much we got from the shower. All that we really have left is the super boring stuff like mattress pads and nursing supplies.

That's awesome that u got all that stuff. I had a shower...registered for all the basics...nothing was bought from it at all!!!! I got nothing but cutesy outfits. Not that im not greatful I completely am. Just leaves me alot to buy still...and being single it makes it hard. And alot of outfits had the tags taken off. So I can't return any to buy basics. :) :( But man this girl is so set up on clothes!!!! :)

I literally bought my first thing for this bubs at 34 weeks, and that's because I had a night of contractions and suddenly had a 'I've done nothing fear!' It now has a mattress :)

We started buying the minute we knew he was a boy.
So far we have:

Moses basket
Bath
Pram
Car seat - which reminds me we still need to get the isofix! I keep forgetting!
Bouncer
Playmat left over from our daughter
Bottles
Sterliser (again from our daughter)
LOADS of vests
at least 15-20 sleepsuits (some 0-3 and some newborn)
around 15 outfits (0-3)
towels
blankets
bibs
x2 packs of nappies

We're pretty much done I think. We're going to wait for anything else we may need until after he's born.

I'm 34wks and still haven't bought anything! We have Moses basket, cot bed, play mat and bouncer from baby number 1.

So other than travel system and bottles, I've had a mental block as to what else I actually need!

Going to get pram and car seat next week so hopefully will see some things that will jog my memory.

Thing is my husband booked this weekend off for baby shopping and my friends have booked the following weekend for the shower! So I'm kind of hoping they do the norm and just get baby grows, so I don't end up with duplicates! Xx
