I'm worried I won't start nesting until it's too late. The extra room needs to be cleaned out. Bed needs to be broken down and brought down to the basement so we can build and put the crib in there.

I have 0 motivation to do these things. OH is out of town and works weekends and after a long day in the clinic I sure don't feel like doing it. I don't want to be stuck doing it myself. Because I know I can't with my sciatica.

I feel like my urge to nest comes and goes. When did you guys start nesting?

For me it kicked in this week (24 weeks) though I have been thinking about what I want to have done and got a list in my head for some time. My first arrived 5 weeks early and I wasn't ready so this time I want everything ready by week 30 - that includes a full spring clean of the house, all baby stuff bought and washed, etc.

I wouldn't worry it you don't start nesting till a bit later though! For some women I believe it sets in only a few hours before they start labour.

With Macie I started organising and doing things slowly after my 20 week scan then the frantic cleaning started the day beforeI went into labour! I used 4 bottles of bleach cleaning the floors, bathrooms and kitchen! My house hasn't been cleaned in the same way since!

It didn't kick in with my first. Im planning on forcing myself to clear out a room this week at 25 weeks, hard with zero motivation.

Lol good to know. I'm going to force myself to nest. I really want to be prepared for her arrival. Lol. We have everything for her room and even some clothing. I know a major part of it is that i want my OH To be there and be involved. Is that not realistic?

This is my 5th pregnancy, it will be my 4th baby, and I'm still waiting for the urge.... I hope yours shows up!

Still hasn't happened for me yet either...

I had a few sporadic days of feeling really nesty but not fully there yet it seems, I am 23 weeks :3 Once the nesting urge kicks in though, I hear you/we will be going nuts cleaning and what you think may take a week to do might take two days hahaha.

ALSO: About your sciatica. Have you tried going to a chiropractor? My chiropractor is fantastic. I get like crippling sciatica pain and cant get up sometimes but after an adjustment I am pain free for almost 2 weeks, its great! You just have to find a chiropractor that knows how to adjust pregnant women :)

I've been driving my family insane since last Thursday's ultrasound and I just hit 14 weeks

The garbage man's eyes about popped out of his head when he saw the giant mountain of crap I threw away decluttering over the weekend. Almost every room of the house has been hit in some way. Not at all interested in cleaning/sterilizing yet but suddenly I just couldn't stand any unorganized nook and cranny anymore.

I'm running with it because I figure the bigger I get the harder it's going to be to get up and knock it all out. When it hits you, go with it but until then relax knowing it will at some point!

haven't looked into it, but I thought about it. Also thought about just thought no one would want to touch a pregnant woman. There's a husband and wife owned chiropractic care up the street from my house, so I'll call them to see about setting something up.

Some chiropractors advertise that they specially work with pregnant women. I just called around and asked who worked on pregnant women. My chiropractor has these pillows for your belly when you lay down. Basically just a big pillow with a hole in the middle lol one for first trimester, one for second, and then you stack the two together for third trimester ^^

I'm self employed and my work always goes quiet after June 20th... I find having more time at home has definitely brought my nesting side out! Yesterday I spring cleaned the whole house... Like a PP said something u think will take u a week may be done in 2 days!! Or a day!! Like I did lol... But I feel like I started nesting a little around 21 weeks, I suddenly couldn't bare mess and had to have the kitchen and living room spotless before I could go to bed! Coming downstairs in the mornings to a perfectly clean house really satisfied where as before I'd happily start tidying in the morning! So strange how we can change so dramatically over night lol! Xxx

Ha! It never kicked in for me. I wanted a million things to be done and cried about them not being done and how unprepared we were, but still couldn't be bothered to do anything myself. Feeling pretty much the same this time round.

Lol I can't even vacuum. Ugh

I know it's early, but I think mine kicked in last week at about 15 weeks! All of a sudden it's important to me that the kitchen stays clean, which I'm usually super lazy about. I also cleaned and organized our bedroom, the living room, kitchen, and lately I've been working on clearing out the nursery. I've even taken vacation days from work to work on the house.

It seems kinda early for me to work on the nursery like I have been, but I figure it's better I work on it now, while I still have energy and am small enough to move around easily. I'm not sure how long this nesting thing is going to last, and I want to make the most of it.
