Hi all,

At this moment in time I am 37+6 and found out on Friday just gone that my little madam is breech. the midwife has booked me in for a scan on Tuesday (38+1) and I'm just wondering how quickly they will plan on booking me in for a c-section if she hasn't shifted? I've been trying to read up on as much as I can about it all as it never even crossedy mind that I might need one (naivety on my part I know) and some people are saying it'll be done in the 38th week and some saying they now try to wait until as close to 40 weeks as possible?
I know it's only another couple of days to wait and find out but I'm really anxious as, just because I love lots of stress, we move house on 6th July and there will be another million and one things to arrange if I'm not able to be there for it.
Thanks muchly in advance :) xx

My friend had hers done in week 37 - this was the uk and I'm not sure if different areas in the uk do it at different times.

I am having an elcs for my 2nd baby. I am seeing cosultant at 36 weeks to comfirm my decision and will be booked in for 39weeks give or take a day or two depending whether 39 weeks falls on a weekend etc.

My hospital does them as close to 39 weeks as possible. They won't do them until you reach 39 weeks, so wouldn't do one at 38+6 for example. I think this is the norm for a lot of places now!

Thanks ladies, so it looks like I'll be moving house (4 hours away) and coming back to have baby in the same week then.....stress or what haha.
Fingers crossed I get to the scan tomorrow shows she has shifted around, let the ball bouncing commence!!

I think it just depends on a lot of factors. It's 39 weeks where I live.

It is 39 weeks here. When i had DS it was done at 38 weeks but the guidelines have since changed.

It was 39 weeks and 2 days for Sophie here in NZ. I think 39 weeks is the norm for most electives these days.
