Is anyone using Whey Protein powder safe to have every morning while TTC? I haven't seen anything about this on the forums...and DH months ago told me to stop using it from now on because "It's not natural"...but now that I'm not using it, my other habits have changed too and I've gained 10 lbs. :( I think if I get back to the routine I had going, I'll be able to get rid of some of this weight...and so far not drinking it, I'm still not pg...

Thoughts?

I'm not using this but my husband is, and I had the same concerns as your hubs (not only in the TTC sense, but longterm effects as well concerned me). I had asked him to look into it but doubt he has, so I guess I'll have a go at it myself.

I have actually read in Zita West's 'Guide to Getting Pregnant' that you should avoid whey protein to improve fertility. I forget why but it had something to do with the type of protein or the way it's produced, though I can't remember exactly now. I don't think it mattered for men, but just for women, though I can't tell you why. I used to drink it when I was working out more and I remember thinking, 'oh, I'll have to cut down on that when we are TTC'. I don't think it's going to seriously impact your fertility as long as you consume it in moderation though, just might be something to think of cutting down.

Thank you! I've already stopped using it...eating cereal for bfast (not low-carb at all, but high in fiber!)...so for now I'll just stick with that or oatmeal. :) My dad gave me a Cooking to Conceive book, so maybe I'll start prepping bfast meals from that the night before. :) Ty for the info!
