hi, i am currently bottle feeding my 6 week old baby expressed breast milk, as he had trouble latching on properly. as i was planning to breastfeed and occasionally bottle feed once established i thought the tommee tippee closer to nature bottles would be a good choice. however, i am having major problems with the milk dribbling out of the sides of his mouth. i suspect they are doing their job, and that as he can't latch onto the breast properly he can't use these properly either! i hate to see so much milk wasted and he is getting soggy at every feed, too, so i need to make a change.

can anyone suggest a bottle which mught suit better, or will i just need to buy one to try? i was thinking of trying avent, but have heard a lot of reports that they are very prone to leaking. he is also suffering with reflux and trapped wind, making feeding pretty uncomfortable for him, so was wondering if any type of bottle is good at helping reduce those? i would also like to get ones that will fit into the tommee tippee steam steriliser, as i don't fancy shelling out for a new one. not asking much, eh?

would appreciate any advice, thanks xx

Hi there. I have had to give my LO lots of EBM by bottle-long story. We tried the TTs and had the same problem as you even with the slowest flow teats. We tried boots own, Avent and Dr Browns with little success. Since starting the NUK range we have had no problems at all. It was like a revelation! You can get them from Boots and Mothercare. We use the 0 to 6 months teat medium hole. Our LO is 4 weeks old.

Worked for us:winkwink:

My baby who took BM and formula from a bottle as well as nursing did best with Nuk bottles.
